It's a "stunt," people. "Ronaldo" is just there as a place-holder until something new rolls out -- probably mid-next week.
Hill Jordan was sacked on Thursday. Mornings just weren't going anywhere after Shawn Cash's retirement/departure/escape.

Well, you certainly can't fault CBS. After all, they gave Hill...geez, almost one whole book to make some headway. How much patience can you expect one station to have?

reguardless of if it is a "stunt" or not... it is funny as hell. To be honest, I have not listened to an entire morning show on The Zone since the days of Shawn & Jeff. I never laughed so hard in my life, and I honestly wanted less music and more talk. Renaldo is EXACTLY what Sacramento needs in the morning. RAD are old and stale, those idiots over at 107.9 suck, Caroloa is not local and dull.... Renaldo is fresh, loca, and funny.
I hope that he is here to stay. A very refreshing change after Hill in the mornings.

Yeah, that was the problem...They didn't give her enough time to PROVE herself. That's it. I can't believe after the "name my zit" bit that they passed on this genius! Corporate SCUM!

To say this is different is an understatement! It might be a little unorthodox for conservative Sacramento but I must give them some credit for thinking outside the box. Renaldo is a fun character and I too have been tuned in waiting to see what he says next. As for Kidd Chris, we can all wish but I don’t think he is going to be leaving Philly anytime soon.
I just hope they don't rush to get rid of it because its pretty "snappy"

They have a character doing morning drive? Can you give me more details on what kind of character he is? You keep mentioning Kidd Chris. Please don't tell me that a Hot AC leaning station is running a Kidd Chris sounding "character" in morning drive. Also, has Renaldo worked elsewhere? I do some consulting work and don't remember hearing his name anywhere. What other names has he worked as?

The current program director makes bad personel decisions. Who came up with the Breakfast Club? A two person club? That's called a duo. The male lead on the morning duo quits to run his dad's roach coach in Elverta. What? Sounds like a bad career move. Then they leave the female half of the duo to die a slow death on the air. Sounds like it was getting ugly. Nothing new at The Zone.

I love all the first time posters.....apparently workers at the Zone want to get there annonymous on. What, is this the 5th morning show since 06? NoMoreJeffs.......is there some ha ha's itching to get out?

1) Not first-time...just not on the boards that often.
2) Any "ha ha's" I had in me, I pretty much worked out of my system a while ago (as most of my former PDs would tell you!)
3) I just hate seeing someone set up to take a fall, that's all. If you had enough confidence in someone to hire them in the first place, at least have enough confidence to give them a fighting chance.

Although I am sure there is truth is the statement that management DOES NOT take the morning show seriously...The Hill Jordin morning show was neither a "show" nor did it belong in the "morning" She didn't appear to ever be prepared for anything other than what was happening in the room at the time. WOW compelling! Sacramento Mornings are not great you would think SOMEONE would step up and take the prize but NO. nomorejeffs, you know being in this business for a while that management isnt concerned with anything other than what will make them a dollar RIGHT NOW!

From what has been said, Hill was a mess from day one and just continued to get worse. Sean tried to make it work with her but he was such a true professional he must of just had enough. Hill made it clear for a while she wasn't a fan of the management at the station and I would think it was mutual and just hit a boil.
This Renaldo thing is kinda funny I just dont know how long it could go in the phase its in. Drew is great but he is not enough to pull away from how over the top Renaldo can be. I think if they pull in a third person it could be something so different that it just may work. They fixed the music and now if they could just get a good morning show they might be able to get back to being a ratings leader.

HAHA! That'd put the Zone on the dial. I think Byron is still running that station. He ran KSFM and briefly KXOA when Kidd Chris was on both those stations a few years ago. I bet he'd syndicate Kidd to the Zone - at least for 1 day. There's NOTHING going on in Sacramento radio. Radio's been dead since Howard left. I still can't believe Adam's doing well. and RAD have always been terrible...NOT FUNNY!

Hire an established morning show. A morning show that is already successful in another market. Seems like the Zone is always trying to make their existing air talent do mornings. In other words: "Let's put the night guy and the weekend chick on Mornings! It'll be brilliant!"
Hire a clever, fun, entertaining morning team from another market. Sacramento is not NY. Think Indianapolis. Think more midwest, less LA or NY. Also, hire a REAL producer, not some groupie or intern/promotion guy.
