They preempted that for this?

I'm guessing NBC offered 2 start times. Curious now if they start performing the show at 11:30 regardless?

I wonder if they have a set start time. They have mentioned that they have started late sometimes. Maybe the build in 15-20 minutes of overrun and then start regardless.

Here in Minnesota both KARE (Mpls) and KMNF (Mankato) waited the 30 minutes and started at 11:17 CST. KARE had their usual 10pm news. KMNF had Big Bang Theory (which they show Saturdays at 10pm)

But it looks like they started taping on time as when they come into the studio the clock showed 11:38 EST.

Not on the West Coast. Looks like they're showing an even 30 minutes of filler between CFB and SNL. Some are showing news. KNSD 7 in San Diego is showing some environmental special. KNVN 24 in Chico and KSBW 8 in Monterey are both showing Wheel of Fortune Weekend.

KNBC Los Angeles and WMAQ Chicago both aired local news immediately after the game, and then aired SNL in full at 9:17pm PT/11:17 CT.

KSBY 6 in Santa Barbara showed a full 30 minutes of news as well. They were scheduled to show Jeopardy! and Wheel of Fortune Weekend at 10:00 and 10:30, but since SNL was delayed, Jeopardy! was moved on the fly to 10:30 and was JIP'd, and Wheel was dropped because of the 11:00 news.

So here we go again. The broadcast networks pre-empted their 10PM programming for live news programming, setting up an address of some sort by Joe Biden.

That meant CBS pre-empted Blue Bloods, NBC pre-empted Dateline (which is produced by the news department,) and ABC cut into 20/20 (which is also produced by the news department.)

Most West Coast NBC's did air Dateline at 10:00 PT on Friday, though they may have swapped in a rerun instead. I wasn't paying enough attention to know for sure. KSBY 6 in San Luis Obispo, KNDO 23 in Yakima, WA, and KHQ 6 in Spokane, WA all aired Jeopardy! and Wheel of Fortune at 10:00. All the other West NBC's that carry the duo (including O&O KNSD 7 in San Diego) aired Dateline.

On Wednesday, two separate CMA preshows will be pre-empting the 7:30 ET/PT slot in several markets.

One is produced by KABC in Los Angeles, and will be airing on all the ABC O&O's, pre-empting Wheel of Fortune on all of them (barring KTRK Houston which would simply cut their 6:00 news in half).

The other is produced by WKRN in Nashville, and will be airing on all Nexstar-owned ABC affiliates.

CBS had a nighttime College Football game scheduled for Saturday after the Masters, but it looks like it's been postponed due to COVID. CBS stations will show the regular prime access programming for the first time this season without any interruptions. Oddly, WCBS has two infomercials at 7:00 instead of ET Weekend, even though this would have been the first time this season it would be able to air in full since CFB on CBS still has not ended "on time".

KQTV ABC 2 in St. Joseph, MO aired an hour-long charity special selling raffle tickets for the "Mayor's Thanksgiving Dinner". It aired from 6-7 Central, so there was no 6:00 news and Wheel of Fortune was pre-empted entirely (even though sometimes they move it to 4:00 replacing the secondary Jeopardy! run when they air specials at 6:30).
