They preempted that for this?

Alot of interpretations in iowa tonight because of the weather. Not sure yet about WOI 5 or KCCI 8 but here is the following Thursday night shows on NBC that will reair later.

WHO 13 pre-emptions

Law & Order - Thursday/early Friday 3am
Law & Order Special Victims Unit - Friday/early Saturday 3am
The Hunting Party - Saturday Night at Midnight following Saturday Night Live.

Tuesday coming up (4/28) the MN Twins are on broadcast TV. Pre-emptions (well just moving programming). Game is from 6:30-10pm with postgame
KEYC-DT2 FOX 12.2 Mankato moves Farmer Wants a Wife and Bear Grylls is Running Wild to 10 & 11PM
KXLT FOX 47 Rochester same thing
KVLY-DT2 CBS 11.2 Fargo moves NCIS programming (NCIS, NCIS Origins and NCIS Sydney) starting at 12:36AM
KBJR-DT2 CBS 6.2 Duluth same thing as Fargo. Moves programming to after the national programming is done. Normally they would have it on KBJR-DT3 which is a sports station but they are carrying the Milwaukee Brewers game on there (Duluth is part of the Milwaukee Brewers "area")
KMSP FOX 9.1 Minneapolis moves programming to 10:35 at the earliest. Most other markets cut the postgame at 10pm to "keep on track" with programming. FOX 9 doesn't.
KYOU FOX 15 Ottumwa, IA moves FOX programming to 10:30 after news
FOX Western North Dakota (KFYR-DT2, KMOT-DT2, KUMV-DT2 and KQCD-DT2) same thing as other FOX stations. FOX programming will be on at 10PM
Other than KMSP which is a O&O, the rest are Gray owned stations

It appears ABC affiliates tonight (and maybe last night but I don't want to go searching for it now) are pre-empting the first hour after ABC News for the NFL Draft. I don't remember what is on in my area other than "Entertainment Tonight" but that's not an hour.

That's how it is for ABC since they started broadcasting the NFL Draft with Day 2 starting at 7 Eastern, much to the chagrin of many in the East that are WoF/J! fans.

Day 1 started at 7 Central so no it wouldn’t have been preempted

Are there a lot of dual affiliates like KUMV up there? It has NBC on 8.1 and Fox on 8.2.
Yes
Western ND is one big market with NBC on -1 and FOX on -2. Bismarck, Minot, Williston and Dickinson are in the market and each town has its own set of nets. Other than news and commercials they are the same.
Fargo/Grand Forks is its own market.
The smaller markets are like that with subchannels of networks.

Thanks for the info, I haven't been up there in a long time. In Bowman there are relaying antennas (I don't know the actual word for them) on a butte that I think were put up in the 50's according to one of my relatives. I don't know what stations they were or are for. This would have been around 1957 because I still have the 1957 Sylvania Halolite my relative watched the stations on. I know one of them was a CBS affiliate, because he said he always liked watching Captain Kangaroo.

They were probably translators back then. Doing a rabbitears lookup bowman is about 45 miles south of Dickinson. Looks like there is some higher peak between the towers and the town so the translators back then would help get the signals there. There aren’t any translators there now.

What happened last night?

I only saw one newscast so I can't speak for all the broadcast networks. I record the NBC affiliate's 11:00 news each night but don't necessarily watch. Last night I had a good reason. There is a 10:00 newscast I record because the meteorologists are better than some others about telling us what the low and high for the day were. Anyway, as I fast-forwarded, I saw something on the screen about trump having to be taken out of a building where there was shooting. Amazingly, they never had anything else to say about what should have been a big story. I just decided to wait until the 11:00 news and Trump was on live talking about it. It didn't look like something that was starting at that time, so perhaps NBC interrupted programming to cover it. The news started late with further coverage of what was happening, and then when I checked my recording of "SNL" it did not start on time. It was a manual recording so apparently last night's was a rerun.

You're right, SNL was a rerun.

It was the same way on WHO 13 an NBC affiliate as well.
