ShadowB, how true when you said, "No one is teaching the art of radio now!" But that's not just in radio. I worked retail in between radio gigs in the early 90's, and my manager taught me a lot on how to deal with customers. These days, when I run through a drive-thru for a bite, employees don't smile, they don't tell you your change - they just hand it to you, and they don't look at you when they say thank you. They don't even pretend they like their job. Either because they didn't have a solid manager, or even more likely, some f-'ing consultant told them it wasn't important to do that anymore. Radio and McDonald's should be on the same level soon! "May I take your order?" "Yes, I'd like a Bee Gee Burger, some Falco fries, a Sgt. Pepper Dr. Pepper, and a Monday Monday Sunday. And dedicate it to my kids, because that's all I can afford."
And Tibbs, you cracked about the demise of radio being an "inside job". Sad, funny, ironic, and true, all at the same time.
