CBS still owns "Oasis" and "KOAI"... Why change to the Wave?

100.3 The Wave and 105.3 K-Rock
No Flippin' Way! I'd love to see KOAI (The Oasis) back on the air at 105.3; And K-Rock would would be on at 100.3. The Oasis started first at 106.1-which is now Kiss-FM, Ironically it started out as a new age station-which was popular 10-15 years ago. It was good music to hear in Doctor's Offices. New Age simply just fade out as C-Jazz tries to morph out into playing R & B. I believe if they want to get into the arena, they need to leave the soft rock/R&B over to K-VIL or KRNB.

I heard a rumor today that The OASIS is coming back and will take the place of FREE-FM.

I would look at the following options for CBS in Dallas:
Live 105.3 flips back to Country to go after both KSCS and the Wolf which are both very vulnerable right now.
Flip 100.3 JackFM to Modern AC to better compliment Movin 107.5 and call it 100.3 "The River."
All types of Rock are dead in DFW...the Rock audience has evaporated over the last 15 years to nearly nothing
Another option is to buy the intellectual property of Casa 106.7 and put it on a full city signal. Goodbye 97.9...Casa would easily double it's shares and enter the Top 5
OR
Buy the Intellectual property from Service or Radio One and move one of those Urban ACs to a full market signal...another Top 5 performer

Cumulus would have to give their consent to surrender the KOAI call letters...CBS would have to get the FCC's consent to get them.
CBS ought to put Smooth Jazz on 100.3 on build it around a morning show hosted by a talent like Tempie Lindsey.
CBS ought to put their K-Rock format on 105.3. But who does mornings? Russ or Jagger? Russ & Jagger? Tough call as they would both be great. Maybe both could be kept, but at least 6 songs an hour in afternoons. In that mode, I'd have Russ mornings and Jagger afternoons.
With all that said, I don't think Cumulus will do CBS any favors in the call letters department, especially if they thought that two stations were in play for format changes, and that one might be aimed at them.
