Time to pluck the Rose

Well it looks like the only thing you can do after deciding to hand out a bag of coffee and a mug with a tote bag to one person in an office...
(was there an actual long meeting for this decision) you must immediately go "ALL CHRISTMAS MUSIC" beginning October 1st!
then when you see that little rise in the fall you can excite all the staff and continue to tell them we are taking the station "to the next level"...LOL!!!

Tell your GM this one's "on me" no charge!

I recently paid a visit to a small business where the owner always had The Rose playing in her shop. During this visit I noticed Warm was now on her radio. When asked why she made the switch, she told me that one day The Rose was coming in poorly.....so she switched to Warm 103.3. When I asked her if the music figured into the switch....she said that she only has it on for background and that it doesn't matter what songs they play. Could this be a throwback to the old BM days...when the radio was just for background. By the way "BM" is short for Beautiful Music.....not something to describe either station.

So Radio Babe exactly where do you work, because it would be such a waste of your talent, programming acumen and positive attidude not to be working somewhere in the market? Or are you working at Hall now and feel some sort of kinship with a certain Revolutionary War general named Arnold?

Well Radio Babe, welcome back! We missed your insight. Radio is not the same without you. Sarcasm detector is going off the charts with that comment, by the way.

I want to say that I am flattered and the Rose staff shares in that sentiment with me. So much talk about our radio station on this board in the past couple of months.

Despite chatter about what we are doing wrong, seems to me that there is a strong buzz for the radio station these days. Who would have thought that, the station that once played soft rock and carried Delilah would have all this buzz. Come to a parade, a fair, a festival, a major station contest finale event or visit a workplace with us (today we visited one with 75 employees, all in our demo, a far cry from the 1 person you talked about, although we believe in hitting big and small workplaces since you never know who will get a diary) and you will see for yourself.

One thing I would like to note to everyone on this board is that the world changes...constantly. I do respect some of the old skool ways of doing things and I cringe when I hear that more air personalities are out of work to voicetrackers or just sweepers and jingles. Very sad.

But nonetheless if you want to succeed you have to embrace change. We're doing that. And we have planted to seeds to do what it takes to succeed. Obviously some people (possibly with an ax to grind) will come on here and cut us down. The world doesn't need negativity and I can only hope you find peace someday. Meantime I gotta get to work.

Great to hear from you again. And, as for Christmas music, we will tell you when it starts this year. We did last year as well. One advance hint...we celebrate one holiday at a time.

If you ignore that annoying LITTLE fly long enough buzzing around your head, it will eventually go away. Radio Babe enjoys buzzing around and stirring the pot, so to speak. We should all from now on, just ignore the LITTLE bug, whoever she or HE may be. He/she only has an axe to grind and provides NOTHING of any importance nor intelligence to any discussion on this board. Radio who........?????

...LOL!...sometimes the truth and reality can hurt!...sorry if I offended anybody....but after all the self grandiose at the end of the day you still have to look at the scoreboard and the last I looked you lose!...

Seems to me that Ronnie Ramone posted something about ratings awhile back. Anything new you can share with us Ronnie?

By the way, the Rose Christmas music sounds really good this year.

WOW! The Rose wilt continues in YORK and HBG!...as well as 92.7 for Hall...so sad...Who is taking responsibility? Would that be you Ronnie?...LOL!!!

My understanding is that Hall is a decent company to work and they have a team of good, hard working people at Hall/Lancaster. If their target demo looks good, stay the course, rather than joining the format of the year club.

Too used to being on Facebook these days. I was looking for the "Like" button on this reply. As a former Hall employee, I can vouch for this. Well said.

History shows that the Rose ratings dropped when Radio Babe/he was doing mornings there. He did not believe in Arbitron ratings then but now they are gospel????
