OK... my first post on this subject got removed by the board manager, so we're gonna try and make it family friendly this time... Let me admit right up front that I am friends with Brett DeNafo, so we don't have to guess about that... I think it is despicable the way that some people are so quick to try and cut Brett down... I don't know all of you, but just by playing simple odds I'd be willing to be that most of you are not and may never be as successful as Brett has been in his life, even over the course of your entire life you may never equal up to what he has done, and he's only in his early 30s... So to see people say that he doesn't know what he's doing is a bit like criticizing someone that's well out of your league... Probably none of you know that he spent over 2 years putting this deal together, and he's the reason all the other partners are in there. You also may not know that he worked 7 day work weeks, often 12 - 16 hour days, and that his compensation for this job is the lowest he's ever had in his adult life... he did the job because he loves it. Before you write something silly about Brett that truly shows that you don't know him, or what you are talking about you should really know the man first... His restaurants were successful, not because he's a "burger flipper" but because he's a business man that puts himself into his work. If anyone read my post that got removed I did single out a person, which I won't this time... This person has a famous father, whose name is how this person got his notoriety... I don't know him personally, but I get upset when someone who's only claim to anything is that he was born with a certain last name. Then this person takes the time to comment on someone who worked their way from nothing, overcoming ridiculous situations to get where he got... Trust me, I know this sounds like I'm gushing, but all of you do not know Brett, because if you really knew him you'd know that he's taken several pay cuts at Atlantic in order to spare many jobs... there are board-ops, part time jocks, promotions people and even the cleaning guy that have Brett to thank... he did without so that those people could hang in there during the tough times... Then the investors come in and remove Brett... we're not going to say much about this, except that they THINK they have some guys that are going to make it perfect, but they are going to find out that although these people might do it DIFFERENT, they will NOT do it better than Brett. Lastly... not one of you need cry for Mr. DeNafo... he's a successful man, who will be successful regardless of what life throws at him... some people are like that... and he still has his shares... so, really.... what really happened???? he took an early retirement, and can get involved with something else and STILL make a killing when the station sell??? gee, what a shame.... Again, I know this sounds like a eulogy, but I read most of your posts and I saw red... you people are more than likely not in the radio business and just watch from the outside... I've been with Brett when he made some of the decisions that he had to make... I've talked with him at 7am after he stood up all night long upset about having to let someone go that he didn't want to... He's not Gary Fisher, he's not some CEO of Clear Channel... the people at Atlantic are his family, and remain that way to him even now...
