Mr. Barrsinister,
I apologize if my references were mixed. Mr. Camiolo, whether on his own or by order of his bosses has just "let go" 5 more people from Atlantic in his first week on the job. If you take Camiolo's whole body of work, you need to include the recent firings as part of what he has done in his career.
Regardless, I am neither a Camiolo hater nor a Fisher ally. I prefer to remain neutral on this board until I see something grossly misrepresented.
In my post, I was simply saying that he and Gary Fisher are accused of the same things, yet the reference to Camiolo was that he was good, and the reference to Fisher is that he is bad.
Again, however, I am not saying that jocks in the AC/CM market should expect more money. I am saying the characteristics of both men are to treat their jocks as overpaid brats regardless of how much money they are getting, and to pay as little as possible.
Most people on this board talk about the lack of talent in radio today, especially in AC/CM market. Well you reap what you sow. Pay as little as possible, get crappy talent. Anyone good is going to either skip as soon as they can, or quit to get a 9-5 job.
And, to reiterate, it's not like I can fault either of them. It's a business. Maybe look to the salespeople at each cluster and blame them for their lack of ability to cash in on numbers (or is it laziness?). Although, now I wonder if it's the lack of good, quality training either company provides the salespeople, but I digress. Regardless, this isn't a market were money is flowing in. And even though many economists say that money has to flow in and out in order for a company to thrive, it's very difficult to live by that when you don't see a lot of money coming in.
