TV Show Cancellation Thread (including ending ones)

re Imaginary Mary
I thought the older teen boy was really annoying. Sure, fun to see Jenna Elfman's imaginary friend. But the premise just seemed poor at best. Now there's some new sitcom premiering on ABC with a talking dog. Watch that thing be cancelled after 4-6 episodes.

On terms of sitcoms I actually like, I enjoy Big Bang Theory, Mom, the occasional Life in Pieces and the occasional Modern Family. This week's Big Bang finale was hilarious at times. Lots of good one-liners. In terms of syndicated reruns, I watch the older Modern Family's and Two and a Half Men (Charlie Sheen only). Sometimes an older Big Bang (but Wheel of Fortune is on at 7PM as well...) and sometimes Mike & Molly. Those old Charlie reruns still make me laugh.

I liked the older teen boy. The older sister I found annoying.

Good. The Great Indoors wasn't funny whatsoever. Didn't laugh once. I still didn't really understand the premise of the show.
I watched for Joel McHale. Ironic since I found him annoying on "Community" (same for Dr. Ken, except I liked his show a lot better). But he was the best thing about the show. I liked the jokes about the millennials but could never like them as characters.

Apparently Politics from Disney and the owners of Last man standing Fox are at play here for its cancellation. Umm that opens the show to move to Fox if this allegation is true.

Six seasons in, the Friday night sitcom was enjoying what should have been a comfortable position:

ABC's second most-watched comedy behind “Modern Family”
8.1 million viewers in the “Live +7” category
Deadline reported:

In its sixth and final season, Last Man Standing averaged a very respectable for any night and especially Friday, 1.2 Live+same day rating in adults 18-49 and 6.4 million viewers, regularly winning its 8-8:30 PM time slot.

While most returning shows were down year-to-year 20-30%, LMS was virtually flat, off just by 5% in total viewers and adults 18-49 (L+SD).
With such solid ratings — and the box office appeal of Tim Allen — the news of the show's cancellation came as a shock to many. And while Deadline explained that the change may have been purely a financial move...

The Tim Allen-starring multi-camera sitcom often had gone down to the wire on renewals, with ABC and producing studio 20th Century Fox TV wrangling over the series’ license fee. ABC is supposed to cover the cost of the show at this point in its run, and LMS is on the higher end for a multi-camera sitcom because of the marquee salary Allen commands, but 20th TV had agreed to license fee reductions in the past and reportedly were open to another one. This time, there was no negotiating or bargaining, with ABC simply deciding against another season.
But many seem convinced that that move was political.

That would be great if it's picked up by another network. I do really enjoy the show.

As for O'Donnell, he draws minimal ratings and so would just about anyone they replace him with. More than likely NBC News is threatening to cancel as a negotiation strategy.

I think you'd have to go back to the CBS Barnyard Massacre (where, in the words of Pat Buttram, they "canceled everything with a tree in it") to find a show as highly rated as Last Man Standing getting the axe.
