Something that I just noticed not too long ago while flipping through channels is ads popping up at the bottom of the screen (or the side of the screen) during Springer and Maury on WCCT-TV 20 out of Hartford. I don't watch either show, but you got to wonder how long it will be before other stations/networks start doing it.

Netflix is the bomb when it comes to avoiding commercials. Even though it's not what it once was, PBS is also the bomb for commercial loads, compared to cable. That's about all I watch (limited OTA options except on a great reception day) unless ion has something interesting ("Psych" "Leverage" couple others) and I've nothing else to do right then. The Voice of Reason said:The choice is either put up with the added commercials or pull the plug on cable, or get rid of the dish, and subscribe to Netflix and get OTA TV if you want to save money.

I have begun to notice this on local as well. Last weekend there four shows in a row that were bumped. I believe it was late Sat. night/early Sun. morning.FreddyE1977 said:TomParks said:Tvland like many other channels went south so I cut the cord. MeTV is a far much better network and few channels.
though my local affiliate is starting to slip more and more half-hour infomercials into the schedule.![]()
