The the biggest issue in trying to find a new site for this station its that they are the only thing licensed to Black Canyon City. They would at least have to keep 5 mv/m daytime coverage of their city of license. Only way to change their city of license would be get another station that has city grade over Black Canyon City to "backfill" the town. But the station would have to come from a multi service town. They could change to a class D AM and not be required to cover Black Canyon City at night. But the other issues are contour protections to KDWN Las Vegas on 720, KSPN on 710 in LA, KIDR Phoenix on 740, and new AM applications on 700 at Yuma, AZ and Silver City, NM that have never been resolved for some reason. So its a tough channel to do much with even going to a class D without night protections. It could in theory be move south and the KFNX Cave Creek site could work to diplex from and keep 5 mv/m daytime coverage over Black Canyon City, but not sure it would be worth all the expense to rebuild it to end up with not great coverage. So my guess is this is another one that will end up dead on the vine.
