WDJO

Before the end of the month, something very interesting will happen with 'DJO. You doubted me the last time, do not this time.

Outside of Huckabee's announcement of a noon-3 talker starting in April, according to allaccess. Would DJO or RealTalk pick it up?

I'm sure that they'll make an inquiry to 1160. Remember that Savage has just started in that slot.
I cannot imagine 1480 going to talk.

Huckabee will be on WDJO from Noon to 3:00 PM?
Huck doesn't start until April 2nd. This new change is set for month end....

I heard a rumor those black helicopters you see hovering over the sky will soon sweep down upon radio stations everywhere and take over! You heard it here first!

What did we doubt you about last time, and how do you define "interesting"?

All Canadian? Lightfoot, Murray and Shatner, all the time! The Canadian anthem at 11:59am daily? Mornings with Bob and Doug? WDJO Canada! Eh?

The signal on 1480 is weak and it'll be a low rated niche format which will not make much of a dent in the market anyway.

Let me weigh in. I haven't lived in Cincinnati for some 35 years, but I am delighted to be able to hear Cincinnati stations again through iPhone apps. I think WDJO is one of the better programmed oldies stations I've heard. It's on a weak signal, I know, on radio. But it would be a shame to lose it. The market certainly has enough talk stations.

You're right, Bob. I've dealt with those folks. They demand a full market signal, 24/7/365. They want those little kiddies
listening, at 7 AM, on the way to school.
Years ago, they were offered various Cincinnati signals, to buy. Noting met their strict coverage criteria.
Sometimes they LMA a station. Not here....

It will be 35 years for me this summer as well. When we left the Queen City, 1480 was feeding 5000 watts to several large towers not too far from Roger Bacon High School. Good daytime signal & at least a presence at night. That was then...now they are less than 5000 watts into several towers that are (IIRC) well under half the height of the ones that were there in WCIN's 'heyday' if that term isn't stretching the truth too far. The 1480 signal we recall is nothing but a fond memory now. Their ratings dropped noticeably when they left the superior 1160 signal, even though the current signal is much nearer to the population center.
