Seeing as NSPUNX is a big T&R fan I think he is the authority when it comes to comparisons. Thank you for backing me up.
As far as the billboards go NSP is a bit off. I don't think we are intentionally going for a female audience. Although, the idea behind The Sandbox is that everyone is welcome regardless of gender, race, religion, taste in music and whatnot. There are actually 3 billboards up currently. Each one has picture of either Charlie, Fletcher or Ed and a quick line that reads "Smart, funny and _____". The blank is filled by an adjective that applies to each member of the show. Fletcher's does say "gossipy". This is because he handles the "Pop Trash" segment in which he runs down all the Hollywood BS. Charlie's reads "bald" because he is and mine says "special' because, well, that's my name.
Fletcher is the "goofy looking dude with bad EMO glasses" that you mentioned. Not sure why his appearance on a billboard would make you embarrassed to listen. Radio DJs are notorious when it comes to fashion faux pas. Just so you know, he isn't wearing the classic (and clichéd) Hawaiian shirt.
A few word of advice, words can hurt.
As long as they got your attention the billboards did their job. Hopefully when people see the boards they tune in. Then it is our job to get them to keep listening.
Could we have gone with a picture of all 3 of us hanging with bikini-clad babes? Yes. But that's not us.
