Listened to the station for about an hour this morning and I liked what I heard. Basically a Modern AC format. However, the website still displaying the old "Radio 94.1" logo is puzzling to me. If the web designer wasn't done with the final layout, why wouldn't they have just waited to launch the new station? ???
I actually like the mix as well - but I am still hearing occasional Radio 94.1 liners on the air too. That is why I am thinking this is a smokescreen....but I could be wrong. Regarding the earlier post about 96.5 and 94.1 possibly switching - not sure why they would do that. Don't both stations cover the same areas? 96.5 does put a better signal into Dayton...
At 2:31pm I heard On 96 Rock a one liner saying the big annoucement is comming Monday. I am still puzzled at what it could be but I'll be listening Monday at 8am to find out.

Maybe they're trying something new, where 94.1 will play music 24/7, and they'll play nothing but the commercials to support it on 96.5...
You may think that's a joke, but WKJJ in Louisville did something similar around 1980. They called it a "Lateral Replay"...they played the song on WKJJ-FM and if you wanted to hear it again, WKJJ-AM played it 10 minutes later. Live jocks on both stations...it wasn't just a tape delay thing. And the AM had a 4 share doing that.chip45 said:

I kinda get what they're going for with the new name. They mention on the website that they will have less repetition, so they will be playing the same songs at a lower frequency. Still, it's a bit of a mouthful. "Radio 94.1" was easier to say.

I don't see what everyone's problem with this station is...I thought it sounded better than most stations in Dayton for crying out loud!
Also to note...that's Jennifer Vaughn doing the imaging...same woman that does the imaging for Mix 107.9 in Columbus and formerly of Mix 97.1 before they blew up THAT station for jockstrap talk.

The currents are missing now. Cincy has no Hot AC and had SOME soft form of it with Radio. Now, the closest thing to Hot AC is Q102, which is Adult CHR.
