Who Wins The Law Suit ?

The whole thing was despicable!

It was not good radio on either side. This is not what they get paid for!

Jeff in Sa-ra-so-ta!
I think the whole scenario wasn't even up to the despicable level! :)

The real losers were the taxpayers of Hillsborough county and the jurors, who had to listen and try to stay awake through all that drivel, whining, and everyone and their brother taking the 5th.

Re: MJ loses...

And now, Bubba will sue MJ for legal expenses incurred which they said on TV was $1 MILLION. Ouch! This certainly didn't turn out the way MJ or Michelle thought it would.

Re: MJ loses...

Remember when Schnitt was originally going to leave WFLA late last year? Doesn't seem like a bad idea now...

Re: MJ loses...

How can clear channel keep schnitt on the air after this? wonder what kind of calls he will get when he goes back on the air...........would hate to be that call screener.

Mr. Schnitt has now sued two people over 'radio shenanigans and tom foolery,' he has spit in the face of everyone in the industry by doing this in my opinion.

To me, it reminds me of the pro wrestler in sanford a few weeks ago who called the cops after the other wrestler 'went off script.'

Schnitt's credibility is now below zero. Good luck selling that show.

Re: MJ loses...

I can't lie, I'm loving this. I've been having a blast listening to Bubba's show this morning. I knew he was going to blast MJ, but damn, he's really destroying him. ;D

What if this was orchestrated as their radio version of a "reality" show?

What if both were just loving the coverage?

How would you feel of you were it taken by one of the best radio pranks ever played by one or two competing personalities?

I never said they were "journalists", I said they broke "the Law of Journalists" by becoming the story.

Bubba's producer, Brent hatley, is now attempting to book Bubba and his lawyers on Howard Stern's show. I know Bubba won the decision at trial, however if Stern is smart, he should distance himself from Bubba as soon as possible. Does anyone know how to contact Melissa personius? I'd like to take her out. I love brunettes.

I initially believed this was purely a publicity stunt orchestrated by the two of them, but now in hindsight, I don't see how any of this benefits MJ. I know they say any publicity is good publicity, but I honestly think this could be the final straw on the backbone of MJ's career. To me, it seems like Bubba came out of this one looking like a victim, and MJ looks like an litigious idiot. Say what you want to say about either of them, but I think this was the only just outcome. If MJ would have won, it would have been a huge blow to free speech, and a definite warning shot towards any other broadcasters who might want to provide us with edgy, provocative programming.

Front page headline in the Tampa Tribune! Often lead story on Fox 13. You can't buy publicity that good!

I don't doubt that this fiasco will temporarily boost their listenership, hell I'm listening MJ's terrible ass show right now just to see what he's going to say. However, I think it's too soon to judge the long term effects of this. In my opinion, losing this case will NOT help MJ's career in the long term. The contrast between Bubba's show this morning, and MJ's show this afternoon says it all. Bubba sounded strong, funny, and victorious. Meanwhile, MJ is still crying about how his reputation has been tarnished... now he's gloating about how he won $300,000 because another DJ called him a homosexual. I just don't understand how anybody can witness his abuse of the judicial system, and take any of this "conservative" crap he says seriously. I'll be glad when he's off the air.

I doubt this judgement will have any effect on Todds nationwide afternoon show. He has many buck-toothed rednecks across the nation that listen to him and think that he is God and will kiss up to him on the radio. This is mainly a big story in Florida, and the fewer hardcore "radio business geeks" across the nation.

Just wanted to give a quick "go to hell" (I can't say anything harsher on here) to Jay O'Conner for ever putting that idiot Bubba on the air in the first place.

God forbid you let him languish in obscurity for his entire life instead of putting him on a mic.

@prestonrudie: Motion for a new trial in the @toddschnitt vs @BTLSRadio trial will be filed by end of day a lawyer involved in the case tells me.

Now did anyone hear about the ratings?? I thought I heard that Bubba jumped some 8 points and kept num.1 where Schnitt dropped from 13th or 14th DOWN to 18th...

That wouldn't surprise me at all based on the way Schnitt came across during that intense TV coverage.

I know who wins this law suit! The lawyers that wear the suits... :-\
