WIIN 780 on the air

If 780 is co-located with the FM, then there should be SOMETHING ON 780. Honestly, there must be something that can be done with a low dial, big signal like that.

I've been buying and selling radio stations for close to 20 years. Operating 4 of them right now, and several cash flowing tower sites. Worked as a court appointed receiver too. My favorite projects are silent stations where the weeds are so high that you can't see the building.

Thanks for all the free advice, gentlemen, but I'm hardly a "greenhorn" at this game.

I've been listening to 780 off and on for years. they've had numerous formats that were pretty good and could have been popular, but they don't want to spend any money on it, so they would put it on auto-pilot and let techincal problems go on for weeks at a time without making any atempt to fix them. They were sometime off the air for days at a time, and quite a few times they would leave the transmitter on the air all night, interfering with WBBM Chicago. Several times still playing music. I don't care how good a signal is, they could have 50,000 watts for that matter, Nobody is going to listen to your station if its had distorted, muddy audio that sounds like crap or if you can't hear it. I know daytimers sometimes have a hard time, but I seldom listen to AM radio at night anyway where I live because even the full timers these days are hard to pick up. Plus I'm usually watching TV or on the computer at night. So it doesn't matter to me if its a daytime only station. I can't see why they can't put real Oldies or Southern Gospel back on the station. Blues 780 was great. How about something like Memphis Pig Radio, which is back on the air on channel 6 audio. Even Radio Disney. Little kids go to bed early. You don't need kid stuff at 2 AM. You're not going to get rich off of the station, but if you've got an FM station to pay the bills, looks like they could come up with something. How about getting one of those low power FM translators to simulcast.
