Temper Trap is out of Australia, right? They made a few sounds on alternative radio here as well.
awp69 - Radio 104.5 is a descent station. I can stomach them. Yes, I believe Radio 105.7 is alternative and not Modern AC. Just like Q100 is not country for playing Rascal Flats. Alternative introduces new music and other genres take the artist IF they get lots of airplay.
I usually listen to CD 102.5 but they no longer stream. FM949 and Live 105 are the top picks for me from the FM world and Radio 104.5 comes right behind that.
Personally, I listen mainly to Got Radio - Alternative and Alt Nation (xm). Yes, I was listening to Radio 104.5 earlier and they played A Silent Film, "You Will Leave Your Mark". Amazing song. Take a listen if you get a chance. Sadly, the song is not old but has only made it to a handful of alternative stations after its big plug on Alt Nation. I think Radio 104.5 and FM 949 are they only stations that play it other than CD 102.5. The late WFNX played it as well. Check it out though.
My issue with Radio 105.7 is the small playlist. Hell I LOVE alternative and can't handle the repeats. I know that 105.7 will expand some on down the road and I for one want to see it.
Also- I don't have a problem with an alternative station playing a few active rock tracks AS LONG AS THEY PLAY FRESH NEW ALTERNATIVE. K-rock is actually not that bad. True, they play a few active rock tracks an hour but they also play some deep alternative music. Listening to them right now actually.

Atlas Genius - Trojans (STILL???)
LOL. That is one song that I never got why it has become a hit. It's not that great of a song. Another song I don't understand why it's doing so well is "Sweater Weather".
The thing I find interesting is, Atlas Genius and Gotya have had better exposure in the US, than they did here in Australia, their home. For all the bitching that people do about (commercial) radio in the US, for the most part, it is still more diverse than Australian radio. We have the same complaints about the tight playlists, and the music industry is complaining about the lack of (contemporary) local product on commerial radio.
