If Clear Channel had any sense, WMKS at 105.7 would be a good choice to change formats, WKZL is by far the CHR leader in the Triad, WIST is poised to switch, but don't expect WBRF to go in another direction, and after looking at the last ratings
book, i don't understand why the owners of WTHZ 94.1 wanted to sell the station, i'm not sure how they were doing economically, but they had listeners, and if they had intentions to move the tower between the Triad and Charlotte, and
managed a tower height enough to cover both areas, they would have done well, but also keep in mind that the Contemporary
Christian format doesn't cover some places, and although you have Urban and Southern Gospel outlets already in place, there
is always room for this type of music on the radio, but as most of us "baby boomers" begin to age, the days of "Good Times
and Great Oldies" may be fading away, but it's sad that two of the largest radio markets in North Carolina doesn't even have
a station that caters to the great music we grew up to, but i know of two close to me that do well with oldies, WNCT-FM in
Greenville, and WODR-FM in Whiteville, both available for listening online.
