WKVE 103.1 testing with classic rock

If he wants to make a real run at this he should try to take 103.5 off of Keymarket's hands... it's a largely redundant signal for them now that they have upgraded 104.3... then "Rock 103" would cover the southern half of Western PA all the way across.....

Listened tonight on the road in South Park. Lots of multipath. I notice processing sounds odd. Maybe the multipath is an AM noise component or pilot phase issue. Bob, if you'd like some help with it I have the gear and am available. No charge. I'm the guy you share an STL path with, remember?

I don't see that happening. Keymarket will change the format to something else before they give that channel up. Even if they were, it sure wouldn't be cheap.

Tuned in to WKZV last night [3/15] from 10:00pm to 10:15 they were simalcasting 620 WKHB [I get Both Signals at my place] At 10:15 I hear "103 KVE "Them rock music followed.620 was still playing the ABBA song. I am 70 Miles North West line of sight from the WKZV Transmitter. The Signal Measured a 6 on my 1969 Lafayette Reciver. As I stated Before Driving Around the Ross,Wexford,Franklin Park And Cranberry Area's the Signal is Strong. When is WKVE comming on Full time?

Did errands in Monroeville today and WKVE came through loud and clear. It even picked up on the scan.

With the exception of the Pearl Jam (and I realize that's a personal preference) I loved the mix of music. I actually didn't want to get out of the car because I wanted to hear what they would play next.

Ummm...KZV? The daytimer?

Listened last night driving home through the South Hills and through the early evening at home.
Have placed an electrical tape "K" over the "D" on my t-shirt.

When I caught the station on the air a few times last week, the signal was excellent in the Mckeesport, White Oak, Glassport area's when I was in the car! At home I have a little Grundig S350DL radio & the signal was at full power on the digital meter! Good luck with the station Bob! Looking forward to more local, interesting & different programming to listen too. We all know these days it's few & far between!

love this station - a lot of good rock - very few commercials - good mix
