WKXU, WWMY - Domains Registered

Has anyone noticed that WKXU and WWMY have been stunting today? All I heard all day is Love Story and an old disco tune from the Bee Gees with the ID played between the two and constant repetition of it all.

I have heard it too. Their signals are pretty good. I could hear the 102.3 Signal as far north as Durham in my car and the 102.5 Signal real well in the garner area.. this was in my car, but not bad!

That's actually where I first realized the signals were back (in my car). I was driving up I-85 towards south hill. I heard both signals almost all the way to the NC/VA border. I wonder how long this stunting will go on before we hear something other than The Bee Gees "You should be Dancing" and Taylor Swift "Love Story". I am kinda partial to the radio stations that play the weird and unusual stuff stunting instead of the same 2 songs over and over. lol

Not "stunting"...just testing the signals. When the station(s) launch, soon, you'll hear the real deal.

Fasten your seat belts!

Any clue as to what the format will be? I couldn't gather anything from what they're playing repeatedly. When I first picked it up it was at the Taylor Swift part of it, so I was thinking it hadn't changed yet (country was 102.5's old format). Then it went on to the Bee Gees, which is something the 102.9 half of KIX would play.

First, completely ignore the songs now being played.

Second, think about the obvious format holes in the market and you will most likely identify the future format for 102.

Class dismissed

Now that I hear the signals...which are much better than I would have thought...I don't think they will simulcast. If the coverage was marginal I'd vote for WPTF-FM but I don't see it now. Even on FM WPTF won't have any of the big 3 talk stars, so the audience improvement would me minimal. But if they use the new Fm to boost their current cluster it could be a win. Some version of AC or urban would bring Curtis audience they don't currently deliver. Anyone heard when they might sign on?

So it's official: Great Goldie Oldies coming to two signals near you! The stunt music is only have the story of course. I know for a fact that they just got a new jingle package that is a old jingle package!!!!!! ;D ;) :D :p You do the math, Clyde.

Stunt montages were one thing CC did quite well in 2006 when they were changing everything left and right. Remember the WFMX/WMKS one that revolved around the word "kiss"? And then WRSN/WKSL incorporated that montage into a bigger one. They fell off sharply, though, when WRDU became "Yuck Radio;" I enjoyed the Christmas music while they played it, but the stunt they played the week after Christmas sucked... God only knows what stunt they used on "94.5 El Beato" when it became "Yuck Radio"...

Goldie Oldies? Isn't that what's on WKIX-AM 850?

Hmmm... A voice saying "hello" is mixed in with the stunting? Then that settles it, talk radio it shall be! :D

Can I put in a request for TV theme songs then if those are the two most requested? Or perhaps all scary halloween tunes leading up to whatever the big launch is going to be?
