WLXN 1440 To Oldies - With 99.9 Simulcast

Seems like to me..KLOVE was already on this translator before they started the link with 94.1

On the WLXN face book page they're saying words to the effect "we're looking forward to Tuesday morning March 1st at 6:06".Is this the hint we've been waiting for? BTW where's goodtimeandgreatoldies? I bet he/she/it is tingly all over.

If it's about Good Times DYN-O-MITE! or great oldies, just speculating and fifth-hand rumormongering can make some people tingle all over. Little bit of tinkle too.

Is 14 watts really enough juice to make you tingle all over?

Just about like sticking your tongue on a 9 volt battery!!!

Looks like the switch was made this morning. No Laura Ingraham after 10, just oldies...

All this over WLXN that few listen or ever heard of - probably another stale oldies sat. feed with tired worn out songs like the fm that should have been great if someone was there thatunderstood what radio was and had strong sales and promotion instead of family with a silver spoon that just waited for the owner to die

Seems like the sword has been drawn. On one hand you read post about needing an oldies station and when it comes there has to be some arm chair program directors that are ready to rip it apart. I listened to WLXN some this morning and the music was certainly oldies. There is a need to put some finishing touches on the liners and production but all in all I thought it sounded pretty good. Not real sure what the meaning of somebody there "that understood what radio was and had some strong sales and marketing". If the oldies are back and that is what so many criedout for, who the hell cares if they sell anything. Seems to me that is not a probelm for anybody but the Hilton's!

;D ;D

14 watts. c'mon. I work in High Point and I hear nothing on 99.9

For oldies, spend $80 on HD radio and listen to 93.1 HD2 and 98.7 HD2. Worth it.

Yes, WLXN is in Lexington.

wavetrapper probably still doesn't hear anything this afternoon if he's working in north High Point.

It's like WUAG's 10 watts (at least what it used to be). It covers all of Greensboro, except for a few nooks and crannies, and goes further on a good day, but not much. It looks like 99.9's signal only goes well over a part of High Point...

I hear nothing in High Point as of 5 pm. Near the intersection of Penny Road and Eastchester. Will check my car radio on the way home

Reception notes for anyone interested:

Via car radio

Traveled from High Point (Eastchester/Penny Road) to Jamestown to 311 & Business 85 and traveled south to Lexington.

Reception extremely poor until the Thomasville exits on Business 85. Signal became 'full quieting' at that point and was very good. This continued into Lexington. The signal began to degrade and was 'shaky' in South Lexington.

I imagine this will be a listening option for those in Thomasville/Lexington and points in between. I doubt the signal will make it consistently to High Point, W-S or Greensboro.

I made about the same trip today and found about the same reception.  It is 250 watts .. Wooopie!

I can covert an old "HeathKit" Color Bar generator to put out about the same!.. Done it before, years ago in Gatorland!

14 watts with a CP for 250. Are they operating under the CP?

Either way with summer around the corner unless you can see the tower you won't be hearing their morning show. East of High Point can enjoy sports talk while the west can enjoy country.
