WOGL playing more motown and soul?

Why listen to radio? answer from a radio geek: personalities and people who know the music. Answer for average listener: change the channel as camersials aren't an artform or "I hate camersials!"

"Camersials"? Did you misspell that word deliberately to make an ironic point of some kind? ;)

Radio is in the business of BROADCASTING, not narrowcasting!
Actually, radio is a FOR PROFIT business...and playing junk from more than 50 years ago to an audience that is dead, or has to be propped up in front of the radio, is SUICIDE. Did you know if WOGL played junk from 50 years ago when they signed on in 1987...you'd have been rocking to the top hits of 1937!??! Face it....the "oldies" audience has one foot, if not both feet, in the GRAVE. If WOGL didn't update itself (like they so successfully HAVE)...they'd be in those graves with those geezers.

you are so wrong!! I love Oldies music and I don't have a foot in the GRAVE. I am 35 years old. I pay money every month to XM so I can hear that kind of music. AND when I'm in the house I stream my oldies music on line. If a radio station did play (oldies)50's-70's they would do very well. If 97.5 was smart they would flip today!! there #'s would jump right up..

That's simply being an exception, and whether you choose to accept that fact makes it no less true. Satellite can (a) gather up those exceptions from a much wider base and (b) doesn't care much why you pay them so long as you do.

Whether or not Greater Media decides to make a change, being the runner up in a demographic a core group of advertisers covets trumps being the king of the mostly ancient.

Here are the facts:

The 50s are dead...
The 60s are almost dead...followed closely by the early 70s

Focus on OGL should be 72-89..and pretty much is...

Look up the road at CBS-FM....they got this figured out perfectly....

Bon Jovi on OGL? If it hasn't happened. it will soon....
