I have alot of tapes from KEGL back in 1999 and 2000, back when they sounded good. I also have alot of recordings of Kramer and Twich, and the old 5 O'Clock free for all, Robert Miguel, Chris Ryan, and Cindy. I cant believe how much better they sounded back then and it was 2000. Did they forget about such bands like Sevendust, Ministry, Dream Theater, Corrosion of Conformity, Anthrax, other songs by Pantera other than your usual, and much other songs that where forgotten but good. It seems like KEGL plays those moldy songs that everyone knows. No wonder they are sinking.

When your Goal is truly reaching and keeping The Lowest Common Denominator, you don't have the luxury of playing "other than usual" or "songs forgotten but good."

In other words. the widest possible "net", naturally means the shallowest possible playlist. It's just the Dirty Bizness of CC Radio.

Their purpose, their reason for being, is to service the advertisers, who in turn service them. Songs "other than usual" or "songs forgotten but good" simply will not have a place in that "refined" universe...

The biggest problem with Russ now is Trey trying to bring politics and current events to the show. It needs to be 3-7 again and drop the politics!

The real problem is that Russ is on the same slot time now as Howard Stern. Therefore, he cannot wake up early and take notes/steal Stern's morning show material to regurgitate to unaware listeners on terrestrial in the afternoon. Plus, he lost the balance in his show without JD, so even if he tried to pull off his Stern repeats like he used to, it sounds like crap.

How many times can you replay Happy the Clown....I mean really, how many times?

It's simply sad to listen to. Reminds me of watching a stroked out Dick Clark doing the New Years countdown a few years ago.

This guy is as fake as an Gucci purse from Sam Moon.

Numbers not too much better this time around.

I listened all morning Friday.

Listen, you can't hire Russ and play 3 or 4 songs in a row. And THEN WHEN HE TALKS he's just rambling on about what he just saw out the window or what some news anchor was wearing. That is shi♠♠y - lazy - content. You can tell he is shackled.

KEGL is an exact carbon copy of what they were in 1998, but without anything entertaining within their imaging - from the music, to Chris Ryan voicing the sweepers, to the same promotions to the LOGO. It isn't going to be anything but a wannabe rock station. Clear Channel has really screwed that signal. MY GOD!

Seems to me like there is room for someone else to come in, hire the right people, play the right music - be LOUD - and win. What someone needs to do in Dallas is pull a POWER PIG plan, and rake it in. Dallas is a RADIO TOWN, but the radio sucks!

I did think it was pretty funny when Clo tried to moon the window cleaner.

If THATS considered the only source of entertainment you're getting out of the show, it's much worse than I remember.
