WSBK rebrands itself

I’m watching the soccer game on WSBK and it looks like it’s no longer called MyTV38. They went back to the circle 38 logo they had before they became MyTV.

You mean this one?

WSBK will no longer carry MyNetworkTV programming beginning mid-month. The brand reversion is in response to that.

Do you have more details about this? I want to know! This is so interesting to me.

Looking at TV listings for the week of 9/12, and the 9-11 pm slot will be filled with past season reruns of Jeopardy, an hour of “CBS News Boston Now” and a 30 minute checkboard of local programming including various Patriots shows and Phantom Gourmet.

It also looks like WSBK will split up the two hour MyNetworkTV programming block, and will air those shows at 9:00-10:00 am and 11:00-noon weekdays.

I live in Bristol County and get the Providence MYTV station MYTV RI which is a digital subchannel of WPRI. So if Boston cannot get a new MYTV station, I can still get MYTV from Providence. That is a major loss for MYTV not having Boston. In a related issue, WJAR just eliminated METV from its subchannel. Providence is without a METV affiliate. I can still receive METV Boston on Channel 5.2 with rabbit ears. METV Boston is not on in Bristol County because the FCC has it as part of Providence. This needs to be changed to Boston.

Boston is larger media market btw, but Boston is more notorious since NBC dropped WHDH for a low-powered station and combined with Comcast being the main incumbent in most of MA and the ownership of NECN is the key factor to drop Sunbeam. TBH Fox should stay in Boston than sell it to Apollo Cox since WFXT deteriorated under Apollo Cox, yes Fox News is right wing but local news affiliates are different other than Sinclair since Fox News only supply some national news pieces and Fox News Sunday to local Fox Affiliates.

Its not a major loss. MyNetworkTV is nothing but a syndication service that really doesn't count as a "major network" here in America. It goes away, nobody will notice, other than the name going back to the legendary TV38.

WFXT-TV 25 is in the process of being sold to Standard Media; they made good changes to WLNE-TV Providence, which they currently own. When Standard Media finally acquires WFXT, WLNE will be owned to Cox; it will be interesting to see what changes they will make to WLNE.

you realized that Boston 25 will not be part of Tegna

Cox has managed to trade down from KTVU in San Francisco (one of the biggest Fox affiliates in the country) to WLNE, the laughingstock ABC affiliate in New Bedford. Are they going to keep going until they own WCRN and some magic beans?

My33 South Florida is back to its old UPN name TV33 CBS is making moves on local news across its station group.

This I can confirm as of today as its now showing its old logo from 2010-2011, just put in a box. This will be both WSBK and WBFS' last weeks as MyNetworkTV affiliates. They go fully independent from next week.

And for WBFS, this will be their first time as an Independent and first time with the TV33 moniker... since my birth year, 1995.

Fox never had a chance to expand in Miami TBH, they can supplement Orlando and Tampa as a political hotbed state. Miami would be a another market for fully O&O. Disney should buy WPLG instead of owned by Warren Buffett since BH is now an investor of CBS owner Paramount.
