Nick Roberts is the PD for the Eagle.. I believe Jason is the APD. As far as I know Nick is the PD for all three Cox stations... It seems to me that the Eagle only exists to make Cox a little extra money.. I highly doubt they have anyone working full time for WZLR.. Nick Roberts programs K99 and WHIO, Jason Roberts anchors for WHIO and pulls nights at K99, and I would bet money on the fact that the sales staff sells for K99 or WHIO as well.

Don't look for them to do anything with it, even with a .9.. it's probably still profitable.. and what would you propose they flip to? CHR is too expensive to put on a rimshot like WZLR...
 
DJ-95 lasted how many months? How did it work when that facility changed formats more often that I change underwear? were they ever a serious threat to Z93?

WDJK was CHR for 3 years.

Let's remember...when WDJK was doing CHR, the signal was 3,000 watts less powerful than it is now. From what i've been told about the ratings back in the early 90s WDJK didn't show up...HOWEVER, there are a ton of people that remember it. WDJK was "DJ 95" from 1990-92, then in June, 1992, they decided to change their station name to "Power 95" after they played "It's So Hard To Say Goodbye To Yesterday" 953 times. When they left the air they did 80s Oldies for their final month when they knew the station had been sold. Power 95 left the airwaves with Night Ranger's "Goodbye" and a replay of all of their imaging. It also launched the radio careers of such folks as Jeff Stevens(PD of Mix and Lite), Allen Rantz, Brian Bruchey, and Joe Thomas, and was also home to former Z-93 jocks Todd Hudson and Joe Momma.
 
Heard the songs I've been complaining about in the same dayparts, and same hours. "Piano Man", "Goodbye Stranger" etc. What's even worse is the fact they don't have to program music during Bubba's show.

And what ever happened to radio stations being a concerts? Last night Blue Oyster Cult, and Billy Squier were in Dayton. With a .9 share, the Eagle should have at least had a van there.

What happened to the days when a station would feature mini concerts of the artists in town? Radio is dead overall, and the Eagle is even worse.
 
It was inevitable that The Eagle would be shot down by those aviators over at Fly 92.9. Similar format, but done 110% better. Also putting Bubba on in mornings was a huge mistake. It would seem Bubba would better fit a younger-leaning format, say Alternative or Active Rock. 95.3 has seen better days, and the bottom has definitely dropped out.
 
I don't see CHR on that frequency. Cox has absolutely no interest in staffing up that rimshot signal, which at best has a local quality signal in Beavercreek, Bellbrook, Fairborn and of course Xenia. Just don't see them sinking any cash into it. Since it split off from 95.7, it's basically been sitting on a desktop at the Cox Palace.
 
I'm not saying they need to change format, but they need to do something with the current format. I swear this station plays only 300 titles. Its not Bubba dragging this station down.
 
So since it costs them nothing to run, does that mean they just run it and forget about revenue, because they don't need it to offset the costs of running it? I mean, think about it - who listens to WZLR that DOESN'T listen to WTUE? WZLR will always be choice #2, maybe even lower than that
 
Give me 3 months, no wait 3 weeks and this station could be sounding great! Such an easy fix! Any company that takes its music from its program director is wrong. Any PD who can't fix the problem on his own, is also wrong!
