LOL. We should start a topic called "Advice for 9--4--5" that everyone reads to help them sound better. Although if one of the jocks is Ray D Yo, I doubt he will take our advice anyway.

I think that if Channel got a decent morning show, a better mid-day show, and let Drake and E be where they are, they will succeed. Succeed is beating Z-93, not Hot 102.9 because that would never happen. Whenever I ask people if they listen to the channel morning show they always respond back the same way, "I hate those guys"! Change is a good thing. And by the way, on mediabase it says that Drake is the PD now? Hope that's true, so they go more rhythmic!

Since I actually worked there when Hannah was in visiting with some of the listeners and I saw the girl with my own two eyes...... I'm going to just venture a guess and say that I am right.

As far as Ray being Clayton highly unlikely. Clayton is a lot sharper tongued then this guy is and would get a LOT more defensive about the morning mess and would blame drake for everything and Wes.

He isn't Quinn either, Quinn uses a lot more profanity, and Gina wouldn't waste her time on this board. She is too busy with her other ambitions.

As far as the Channel Pd position goes, I am still very close to some people that work there, Drake is acting PD but is not the pd. Tony Tilford is the OM and is overseeing things and Drake is calling the shots on some level. Mark Anderson is involved but not a whole lot.


And for the person that asked if I am Wes, I am not, but Wes is a very close friend of mine and I can understand where some were calling attention to his age he was barely 21 when he started at Dayton, but you do need to consider the fact that he hat 5 years of professional experience under his belt and that he is a very talented programmer. The stations he programs in SC have taken off and have made drastic improvements during his first quarter there.

As much as I admire your loyalty to the morning mess I have to disagree with you. I stopped listening to the morning mess when they started discussing which Hollywood women have acknowledged having abortions and then lead into the song Promiscous, and then came back to Quinn stating that the only reason a celebrity would sign anything like that is so they can get free publicity. Not really the message to send to your target demo.
 
Wes McCain is a phoenom in this business. Drake is like 25 or something and still isn't the PD and Wes was at 21 or something. WOW! That is sweet, plus the guy is at one of the South's biggest stations in WNOK trying to turn around that place. He is pretty darn good, so what's that say about the rest of the Channel staff? Or what's that say about you Ray D Yo? Are you even in this business? If you are then I sense a little bit of jealousy!
 
I was on Channel 945's website yeterday looking at the jock pages and all the sudden Clayton's page went blank. He wasn't on the show today either. You think they finally got rid of him?
 
His name isn't even on the website now. Let the changes begin... You think they will flip, or sell, or are changing???

check out his myspace. It says big announcement coming soon. Thinking he may have left. I haven't heard anything, and they haven't announced anything at the office. Roach being canned and Chuck leaving have been the big buzz news.
 
because he has a crappy attitude and is incredibly difficult to work with, besides he really isn't that great of a jock. He is pretty boring on radio, and has been let go of radio gigs in the past because of this. But me thinks he wasn't let go, he probably left for greener pastures.
 
I wonder how long it's gonna be "Quinn & Gina" in the morning. I don't think long. They'd be smart to get Valentine back. Well, maybe not, I'd enjoy him though.
 
Clayton wasn't a horrible jock, he was just a really conceided jock. His skills were about market 200 worth, but his lack of knowledge is what probably hurt him in the long run. I am so happy because that has to mean that they will get a new morning show now. This may just save Channel 945.
 
This is a very tired thread. I hope we can move on one of these days.

If the rumor is true and he's going up 30 markets, then he must not be hurt very bad.

Actually I have and actually I thought Clayton was good. He's not the same as the others trying to sound "black". I respect Clayton and wish him well. I wonder who's going to move to mornings. GO VALENTINE! COME BACK TO DA DYT!
