Z93 stunting!

I just received a call from a friend who instructed me to turn the radio on. Right now, 92.9 is doing one of those automated countdowns and it looks like the time for whatever happens next is noon tomorrow.
What's going on!?

So let's start the speculation...I say "All Polka All the Time"!

Ok, so I've been pretty good at predicting stuff like this, so here it goes.
1 of 2 things will happen
1. Z93 relaunches with tweaks or,
2. 92.9 becomes country focussing on more currents than K. Laugh at me all you want, but I'm telling you. I think that's what's happening.

they are going to beat lite to all-christmas and will generate some curiosity and buzz. Then the "switch" will be to Hot AC.

I love Christmas, but I hope we don't have twice the selection, plus this gives Mix a chance to really hold down the #2 or 3 spott and when Z goes hot AC, that would already be a handycap they would need to overcome.

I have a running theory right now that the loop is updated every two hours. The "New 929" voice didn't start until 2. So, in theory at 4 there may be another clip added.

I looked through the Myspace profiles of the DJs and found this from Frye Guy
New and exciting things coming soon....make sure you are listening to 92.9 at Noon Fryeday Nov 2nd!!!! Frye Guy

Z-93 will flip to a Spanish talk format Friday at Noon. Line-up: Carlos Mencia mornings, Charo mid-days, Speedy Gonzales afternoons, George Mc-Spanish Fly evenings and Art "Taco" Bell overnights. By the way, today is Novermber 1st, so Happy November Fools Day!

If JACK comes to Dayton, I'm going to be beyond upset. Think about this... Channel 945 has to be happy. Their ratings are going to boost. I'm in Columbus for the week so I can't hear much. Somebody fill me in. When did this start?

A dear john letter to Lovejamminoldies:

Looks like what you wanted is going to happen. Z93 is blowing up in favor for something unknown and the idiotic masterminds at Clear Channel are running around up and down the hallways cheering. However, they must realize that the cheering will become silence, much quicker than they ever wanted.

I was asking a dear friend of mine at Mainline in Richmond and recently completed was a 100K Reasearch Project on the Dayton Market and their listening trends.

While I cant allow too much information to escape, Dayton Radio is going to see something very different hit the airwaves soon, and it involves more than one station.

*Mainline's chief investor is Arlington Partners. They helped sign on the original Z93 way back when under Great Trails and they are very proud of that. So dont look for Mainline to dump the "Top 40 Format" so easily.

I can tell you this much. People listen to Mix because it offers variety, and thats the only reason they come to Mix. They have no ties to the station and if it vanished, they wouldn't be heartbroken. However, they do like the "VARIETY" factor. So, what could you build that offered listeners "VARIETY" and "PERSONALITY". Chat amongst yourselves.

101.5 upon its arrival will most likely switch to a new format. While Dayton has a strong Country Audience, both the AQH and Cume arent truly strong enough to support 2 country outlets, thats why Rebel and Kiss has had problems attracting a following in the market.

102.9 and 92.1 both offer strong qualities that Mainline can prosper from. However, they are not opposed to tweaking the format on 102.9 to combat 94.5 more direct. Could we eventually see Z103?

A lot of option remain viable. My first instinct is a younger leaning Adult Hits station, but thats just me....so who knows.

Through the power of deduction, Z93 is still a high cume builder for the company, however the TSL absolutly sucks. Actually in Cume Z93 is almost triple of what Channel can ever be. WGTZ's strongest core comes from the Women 18-49 audience with its secondary group coming from Women 25-44 audience. Ironically Liberty in Richmond also seems to have the same situation, it's core audience is Women 25-44 and secondary goes to Women 18-49. Its also a younger leaning Adult Hits station.

I dont see them using the name Jack even though its a possibility. Could we see something thats more fitting to the valley? Or did I just use the name?
