Post your latest DX

There are three Cubans on 840; two in parallel and one separate. WHAS is back on now so I'll try to match the voices via Key West. Except WHAS is overpowering them on the Key West SDR as well. Ha!

At 11:30, WHAS is off, I'm getting one presumed Cuban and Key West is getting another. I think I have CMHW Dobleve. If this lasts to the top of the hour, I'll know.

I heard both Cubans at 11:00 pm CDT. CMHW Dobleve with ID and news. Also CMKC Radio Revolucion with Cuban anthem and ID. Dobleve was the stronger one. There was another Spanish speaking station earlier (11:26 pm CDT) with religious talk and instrumental music. Could not get an ID or verification via stream. Some DXers reported it on NRC's Facebook page as KVJY Pharr, TX.

Also if you need WONQ Oviedo, FL on 1030 they are dominating the frequency with Salsa music.

KVJY's stream wouldn't come up for me. I was wondering that as well. I didn't hear CMKC under CMHW, not even under the news, but you couldn't miss the Cuban anthem on CMKC before the news. But I'm just using an ICF-2010 and the AM-200 loop. The small advantage is being able to put it anywhere in the house to gain signal.

I have not heard KXNT, but not for the lack of trying. KXNT and 4VEH Haiti are my two targets for this frequency. So far no luck.

Three new ones for me in Chicago tonight on the upper end:

1580 WWCD Columbus, OH (formerly WVKO)
1600 WWRL New York City
1670 CJEU in Gatineau, Quebec.

The latter two aren't terribly surprising to get here, but I was suprised to get WWCD since it's at 290 watts at night. I don't think they were "pulling an all-nighter", because the signal diminished to nothing within a few minutes. So probably just a lucky catch for me.

For the past few days I have been trying to ID a station 1440 that has a format of Spanish (Mexican) vocals and frequent mentions of Radio La Raza. That is the only form of "ID" I could hear them give. Nothing out there matches any stations with such format on this frequency. Come to think of it I have not even heard any type ads either, leading me to a conclusion that it is somebody introducing a new format. I have been listening between 8:00 pm - Midnight CDT.

Two new ones for me this evening, on the west edge of Phoenix:

WHO Des Moines, IA. Caught them briefly but heard their call clearly.

KRKO Everett, WA. Also caught their call.

Though they’re both 50kW, I haven’t received them here inside the chicken wire before.
I brought my Sangean HDR-18 tabletop radio home from the office Friday, and it exhibits noticeably different reception characteristics than the HDR-16 portable.

What do you normally hear on 1040 when WHO isn't there?

In the daytime, just massive RFI. LOL

Usually there’s nothing there at night I can identify, at least through the noise. I’ve wondered sometimes whether CKST is down there in the mud. It seems like it _should_ be. After all, I caught Bellingham last night, and Vancouver is just a short walk up the road.

Couple new ones heard last night here in Chicago. WRUS Russelville, KY on 610 with oldies and clear ID at 7:50 pm CDT and WBCM Baltimore, MD mixing with WCTT on 680 with "AM 6-80 WBCM" ID.

At 8pm in Picayune, MS I am hearing 840 KWDF Ball, LA mixing with WHAS and Dobleve. KWDF is 8kw daytime only and likely running that power at night also, it is sometimes the clearest station on 840.

Have any of you Chicago area/midwest guys ever heard KXNT? I never have in the midwest.
I never heard KXNT, but I met the original owner, as KVEG, Bob Naismith (Roberts Communication), when I was just around 12 and he was 16. He was doing a "carrier current remote" at the local Dairy Isle, which got out 500 feet or so, which was on 1200, with the unofficial call letters WDAW. If any of you hear of WHAS going off again, let me know, and I'll try to email Bob to try to see if he can hear it. Even then, he was "breaking up the clear channels", which I'm sure is how he picked 1200, even in 1965.
