Ed Stolz’s stations are finally going up for auction yet again. He is a fighter! It all stemmed from Ed Stolz refusing to pay ASCAP. A trustee was appointed to get Ed Stolz to pay up. He refused to allow the trustee to take control of the stations so he went to jail for contempt of court! Yes, this guy actually WENT TO JAIL for refusing to pay ASCAP.
The stations were sold to VCY and they ran their religious programming for a few months. Then Ed Stolz filed for bankruptcy and due to the automatic stay rule, he was given his stations back. They all went silent when he got control back.
Another receiver was appointed and the judge transferred control of the stations to the new receiver. Now an auction date has been set. This should be the last time Ed Stolz has his stations up for sale. Knowing him, he is very likely to protest the sale and sue whoever buys them.
