WWRL does now show up -- even with an 0.1 -- in the monthly 6+ ratings. I know it's a "prestige" project for iHeart to be sure BIN is on the air in New York. But even compared to the ill-fated Air America of 20 years ago, this has got to be an humbling showing.I wonder why IHeart bought WWRL instead of WLIB a few years ago for their Black Information Network. I believe that WLIB has a better signal (and is lower down the AM dial), and there was not much difference in what they would have needed to pay for it.
Perhaps because BIN has so few listeners, it doesn't matter very much.
With the punching out of the 1600 signal in the '90s. does it now cover more of the NY area cleanly than 1190??
