Las Vegas KIOF-LP cancels license.

Thank you for your letter on behalf of your constituent, Mr. Gregory La Porta, President of Portsonic Communications, LLC, the licensee of low-power FM (LPFM) station, KVGK-LP. I appreciate the opportunity to respond.

Mr. LaPorta’s correspondence appears to indicate that he seeks a “congressional waiver” for commercial LPFM service. As you know, federal statute requires LPFM stations to operate on a noncommercial basis. Neither the Media Bureau nor the Commission may waive this requirement.

The fact Paul Gosar is involved does not bode well. His district may be close to Las Vegas, but it is not in Nevada, nor is Paul Gosar on any plane resembling reality.
 
We will see if they file against the dismissal. The attachments are fun to read. Now will they get the Indian Springs station on the air?
 
Is KIOF even on the air?
Im surprise these loony toons are doing public radio, usually their type tend to be hardcore republicans

Where common decency, logic, cooperation, moderation and respect used to exist has become a huge chasm of nothingness, where hate speech, divisiveness, violence and tribalism reign supreme, with political factions from every side yelling across at each other from the fringes.

That said, I don't know where KIOF stands ideologically, nor am I familiar with their programming, so I can't comment on it other to add that it seems that their statement mentioned that NPR, CPB and the State of Nevada doesn't want them in the marketplace. That seems pretty extreme, so I'd like to ask if anyone knows what's going on and why?

they simply dont qualify for whatever theyre asking for and/or don't provide the required information/data these organizations require.. or theyre aksing for stuff theyd never get/are unreasonable requests
