I enjoyed it while I have been getting things ready for the change ,But after radio one merged with the other station I programmed for 6 years I had a pretty impressive amount of business owners that had pulled out of advertising on the new Mega station so I had them commit and here we are set to launch soon .

Factoring in 92.9 is technically 2 signals 1550/92.9 Delaware and 1580/92.9 Columbus.
Would be nice if Delmar moved the Oldies to 96.7 and moved 96.7's format to 95.1 but I don't think they will do that. Listening to 92.9 lately I assume the Oldies was just a place holder until they could lease or sell it to someone else after the deal with WWCD ended.
Is the La Mega on 103.1/107.1 that drastically different than what aired on 103.1 prior to the brand going to Radio One? (I don't understand Spanish so I never could really tell a difference myself - I assumed the change was Radio One taking over the branding and giving 103.1 an additional signal).
its more about La Mega being a brand that is burned out in the local market. Radio-one made a big mistake by not killing la mega and keeping the LA GRANDE brand. I would expect this new station been more grassroots and more in touch with the local community . I asked a few people that are from Columbus and it seems the new ''la mega'' talents are not very known in the market include that to the fact that the new staff is a mixture of Colombian,Salvadorian,Venezuelan trying to appeal to a bigger Mexican audience.
I've heard stations having 2 translators to cover more area but the way they have these 2 in sync is pretty neat!
So what you're saying is Radio One took the branding but didn't keep the existing La Mega folks? Or maybe I am reading this wrong. My understanding is "La Mega" that was on 103.1 was being programmed out of Columbus prior to Radio One taking over (they had studios off Bethel Rd before the merger).
Since I am not in the demographic, I didn't listen to either station much, but I got the vibe listening to the final hours of La Grande before KLove took over that it was a more up-tempo/pop/dance sounding format compared to the few times I tuned into 103.1 before the transition to Radio One.
La Mega lets say 2020-2024 has become less of a Regional mexican station and has started to add on air talents from venezuela, colombia etc and the mexican audience had transitioned toLA GRANDE 102.5 and had begun to get some traction in the market with the merger they pretty much killed all the progress 102.5 had made in the market.

Of the maybe 30 stations I have launched this is the first one we had remotes and signed agreements before we even went on the air.
The goal was to run it. The lease was the more economically viable move.
Did you have the relationships and experience like those you already had in Columbus in the other markets?
Probably not . Columbus is a pretty tight community .
Interesting technically 98.9 can't drop HD because HD-2 of 95.9 is what Salem uses to feed the translator at 95.9.
You could change parent signals of translators..
