It is pretty lousy. It's just another form of the same music found on many spots of the FM dial. Back to Sirius/XM.

I think they got the hint from all those urban pirates that cropped up after the demise of wbot&wild. Maybe people want to hear this music. I applaud Greater Media for having the guts to make it happen.

I guess not for long. Could be a stunt! Hope so.

Everything from the Prudential Center (including 96.9 FM), stepped all over them. Even on "CITY" mode, the Walkman didn't fare much better. I could never get a good signal of the old HOT 97.7 (WBOT-FM?) around those areas either. WILD-AM 1090 sounded like a good adult urban station, but with the daytime-only signal restrictions. As for staff on this new station, do you see Pebbles going over there? I was surprised she was let go from WJMN-FM!
Here in greater Hartford, we have CBS Radio's WZMX-FM 93.7, a.k.a. Hot 93.7. They've had this format since March of 2001. Until that time, the only real urban station was 5,000 watt 910 AM of New Britain/Hartford, a.k.a. "JAMZ 910." They played mostly Hip Hop, but mixed in some adult urban, usually at night. I actually liked that station. They only show I remember was a weekend countdown show with Walt "Baby" Love.
The closest station with Adult Urban to southern Hartford County now is WYBC-FM 94.3 of New Haven, the Yale University station with commercials handled by Cox Media Group (WPLR-FM and a couple of others). However, their signal is limited, since there's another 94.3 station on Long Island, NY.

I would be shocked if they didn't try to get Pebble's on there. I think Jamn is in A LOT of trouble. They had there chance to sow up this market and got complacent.
