10 AM on 96.9, and...

96.9 A New Format Every Day (now Nova dance)

Hope you enjoyed Power in the long time it was on...24 hours. Now it's dance as Nova.
That press release mentioned surprises in the next week. And someone here was told it was the permanent format.

I thought maybe, but that wording made me wonder. You never know. What will they have tomorrow?

or has it changed yet again

I don't see it is as AC, or unfortunately... rock because those two are spoken for with WMJX, and WBOS.
However, the wild card might a frequency swap of some kind with an overhaul of either talk, or rock.

Greater Media does 3 formats. AC, Rock, and Talk. It will more than likely be some variation of one of those.

"Power", "Nova"..... cute. Yup.... it's stunt city folks. Wouldn't it be weird if they went back to FM Talk and the whole thing was a stunt. They have effectively got some of the best FREE publicity around. OK, maybe not back to FM Talk but who knows? Next thing you know, "Oldies 96.9" will be the next stunt. THAT would p**s off a lot people if they did that after having lost WODS just a few months ago. Stay tuned folks......

They are not doing Nova as well as they did Power so far.

To be fair they sorta don't NEED to now that the stunt cat is out of the bag, the joke is out, now everybody knows it's a stunt, with Power it had to sound legit. And legit it did... what a shame

No someone here or maybe facebook said that (was told perm format). I said could be perm but could be a stunt--note wording in press release about surprises in the next week.

They had been using Metro News more——maybe they are going all news via America's Radio News Network? 8)

Well at least Boston has two dance stations for one day. I never would have imagine that a month ago. And they are redefining what a stunt can be like. The station sounds good, proving that a good PD can program any format (regardless of age or race).

Now,if they are still stunting the rest of the week and do a Spanish language format then I'll be surprised. I don't think GM can pull that off. Although, this could actually BE the format.

it was a post on the big thread (it's 10 am...) by mattcatlover456

>>Also I sent a twitter messege to the station just now asking if the station was here to stay and they said its a permanent format. Good luck jamn

Lame. They'll just do niche formats and go back to a boring permanent format like classic hits. Blah. zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz.
That would be boring, yet infinitely better than the rubbish they've been playing since Wednesday @ 10.

Why would anyone believe Mattcatlover about anything?

ROR mostly 70s, some 80s or 60s. They could do adult hits (some say variety hits but variety a bit misleading) a la
Harbor (80s, 90s, 00s etc, poss a 70s tune)...rockin' stuff not too soft.

Don't think they do a format like The Harbor (variety), it's too easy and lame to do that. Maybe a variant on it to play more oldskool urban tracks from that decades.
