106.9 WKDN will become IQ 106.9

I predict the last song they play should be i shall not be moved hey its fitting since the station is going off the air
Maybe the Carpenters' version of End of the World (not that too many birds will be singing at midnight)? Then they could launch into Reagan's speeches. Or Stephen Hawking's speeches (IQ).

an unceremonial end to 44 years with a pulling of the plug at midnight after a plug that Family radio would help you write a "Christian will"...

Well, WKDN went off the air at midnight. No ID. Now, just static. I guess they're hooking up the new studio? To the transmitter in Camden or One Liberty Place?

a funny ending would have been to have a few seconds of static & then have Jerry Blavatt come on "What are you talking about, Mr. Harold Camping, WKDN isn't dead" & play 6 hours of hymns from a nightclub and then get cut off again (for younger viewers this is a reference to the end of top 40 WIBG 9-10-1977).

if the station is dark for a time guess we'll hear more of Light 106.7 from NYC or the new Z-Country 106.7 Hershey & 107 The Bone from Belvedere, NJ (Lehigh Valley wanna-be). I still remember when 102.9 was dark upgrading for the '95PEN" simulcast in 1975 & WNEW-FM boomed into Montgomery County with Alison Steele "The Night Bird" etc. I was sorry when WPEN-FM came back because I'd enjoyed NEW (although I liked when WMGK came along 6 months later). When WBUX was dark during their transmitter building fight in the '90's WQEW came in clear, too.

R.E.M. Close enough.

Looping.

In mono.

Signal Strength in Willow Grove comparable to MMR but not as good as Roxy (104.5)

Little ID I caught just after 1 sounded Halloween-y (gravelly voice, high-pitched shriek) teasing something today at noon. Hannity loop debut?

Terrifying.
