No my friend, these were predictions, not false statements. As I said in the other thread, you are clearly an insider. And there are only a couple of people you could be. At one time I thought you might be Paul P. but since he was ceremoniously let go you aren't he. From your tone and demeanor here, my guess is that you're the real McCoy himself. But hey, what ever. We both know that the station is a ball and chain, and I predict it will be unloaded at the first opportunity. There is no way that it is paying its bills and paying a staff of six on that one massage therapist's ads, a brokered non-English language show on the weekends, and the PI spots. Not as the third and newest news-talk station in the county.
And the sad thing is it didn't have to be as it is. And that final comment about the arrogance of one man - truer words were never spoken.
By the way, how's that Michael Smerconish show doing stacked up against Rush Limbaugh? And about all those listeners the station advertises it has - 50,000 I believe? Where did you come up with that number? just curious. Glad to see that the Wall Street Journal show is back on in the mornings. I guess BM was too cheap to install a phone-in line for the Liz show? I'm sure changing the content of the station constantly is a good strategy. People will keep tuning in to see what is new, right?

Just another step toward going dark. Little WINT achieved a 1.0 in the latest book, something WIXC wasn't able to do with sports if memory serves me right. Wonder why WIXC isn't a subscriber any more. I guess the Genesis folks don't want folks seeing just how bad it it. Heck, WCZR (Vero Beach's "Little Talker") got a 0.6 in Brevard. But they still brag about 50,000 listeners on the air at WIXC. Well, as they say, there are lies and then there are damn lies. I'd say WIXC has to be the #4 talk station in its market.
WINT does not subscribe either. CZ you never answered my question, do you work in radio? Do you know you can buy a Aribtron 18+ Cume rating for all of Central Florida? Hmmm, seems to me that a radio pro like you would know that.
I heard that Cumulus bought that instead of "The Melbourne Book" and the WAOA and Hitkicker Cume was in the 200,000 range which is much larger than the Melbourne book.
Of course when there is a 50,000 watt station that can be heard from Vero to Orlando and Daytona it's tough to live in one book.

The other day Liz did something really precious. In her worst Staten Island accent she was making fun of Arnold Schwarzenegger's Austrian accent. It was funny as hell, though she didn't ever realize it. Man, you really don't understand local live radio, do you? There is no more grating voice for radio than a Staten Island accent. Don't take my word for it, ask around. Really. Honest. This is contructive criticism.

A couple of points, if you don't mind...
First, I am from Brooklyn, not Staten Island. A statement like that to the wrong person could get you whacked.
Second, if my voice is so grating to you, why are you always listening?
Third, I take constructive criticism very well. When you have some that is worth while, I'll take it...
and last but not least , could you do those of us who are working in the radio business a favor? go watch TV instead..

Liz, please don't take my comments as being directed at you personally. It is not my intention to slur you (or your Brooklyn accent) personally. My criticism is of Bruce for not understanding that such a strong accent (so strong that I risked being "whacked" for mistaking it for Staten Island - I do think you've watched The Sopranos a little too much) does not play well in the Space Coast area of Florida. There are a lot of accents that would not play well here, and they should all be avoided. Nothing against you personally. It's business. Your station has been very badly run for a long time now and I'd love to see it get on track.

You are litterally one of dozens that I saw come and go, and a few of those were good people trying to do good things. It has a lot of potential but the owner is not going to spend the money to do what needs to be done. Take another ride back to the station off 46 and tell me you don't truly see it. Yes the owner reads this and that is why I am being as nice as I can without giving you some honest to goodness truthfull information about the years and years I was associated with it.
