I have heard quite a bit of '70s, even late '70s music, on this station, so maybe they are programming to those of us baby boomers who are NOT old enough to remember "where we were" when JFK was assassinated. I'm 48 myself (born in '63), so I would represent the last full year of the baby boom, the last high school graduating class made up entirely of "boomers." So I've got just under seven years until I age out of that precious demographic that radio advertisers are supposedly going after.jetfli said:

Agreed. "Hippie radio" seems to be positioning themselves (chronologically) between the former Oldies 96.3 and whatever 97.1 is doing now.Tibbs2 said:

Nashville Native - it's those pesky Brentwood/OHB hills catchin the signal that are blocking you in Berry Hill. I actually expected more signal issues in Bellevue that it has because of all those hills.
In Brentwood, it Is spotty in a few areas, but surprisingly strong near OHB, Edmonson and Nolensville Road. Not sure how it's pulling in Antioch and toward Mt. Juliet, but I'd expect issues with 94.7. If you're coming into Nashville on I-40 from Jackson, etc., you can see all the radio towers and how flat things are toward Hendersonville and it would seem to make sense that the signal would be good up by the lake, Hermitage, etc. Surprisingly great signal, so far. I wonder if they'll have to reign it back any to protect east.

94.5 also has a Facebook page a swell. I have not checked that out yet. Great to hear Spider Harrison again. I have not heard Him in many years. I know some of You have Sirius XM radio. Those that were around in the early days of free form rock radio and those who have heard airchecks and old stories about these carefree days, check out Jim Ladd's new live show on Sirius XM Deep Tracks ch 27. Jim plays modern bands also. It is not just old Doors music, although You will certainly hear this music. Some of You Guys were working at some of these stations back in the day. People say it can never work on terrestrial radio anymore and perhaps they are right, but still the spirit of free form rock radio lives on in many hearts. 6 PM is the lauching time here in Nashville. Back to 94.5. I wish them well in their efforts to try something a little different. Keep the song playlists broad and diverse and they will be fine!
Heard my first '80s song on "Hippie" radio: "You Make My Dreams Come True" by Hall and Oates. 1980 for that one, I think. Voices album. (Although the single charted in '81.)

Thanks, but I am looking for a coverage map and a list of songs that they have played. I have no problem picking them up, but in a previous discussion about this station (on another thread, not here), I was told that their transmitter site was (or would be) just off McCrory Lane. There is already a cell phone tower there in that location now, so that seems plausible. This would be the cell phone tower that I use whenever I am at home, so it's fairly close to me.SwissVol2 said:

Is there an class increase in the future? IIRC around 1995, 96.5 in Asheville NC (COL Biltmore Forest) signed on as a class A, then after a year or two they upgraded to C3.
I heard "Truckin'" by the Dead last night. And while I wouldn't ordinarily advocate playing '80s music on a "hippie" station, but since I've been hearing '80s music over 94.5 ("Authority Song" by John Mellencamp), they might as well go ahead and play "A Touch of Grey" by the Dead, too.jetfli said:
