That would make sense with the current song "Jenny From The Block"
94.7 The Block. It's already on the Audacy site. A throwbacks format apparently. Or a stunt.
And New Kids on the BlockThat would make sense with the current song "Jenny From The Block"
During 2020, it was down below $200 k a month, it is reported.25,000 songs commercial free? Holy crap.
Billing on the old station must've been truly horrendous for Audacy to commit to what will likely be two months worth of commercial free programming under the new brand.
I like what they're doing. The first couple of songs sound promising. Hopefully this is not a "fad" format...we will see what they do to avoid the burn out factor.94.7 The Block is kicking off with "Empire State of Mind" by Jay-Z featuring Alicia Keys.
Every year from 2013 to 2018 it billed over $5 million. Still horrible for NYC.Ouch. Hate to say it, but that station deserved it's fate. It clearly had no reason to exist any longer.
Did it ever top $5 million in a single year under Cumulus?
I'm sure the application to change the calls is being filed as we type. I wouldn't have filed before hand either just to not tip off the competition (yes, they check FCC filings all the time). The station's ID is still WNSH Newark.
Signal Signal SignalWouldn't shock me if the new station generates a 4 share or better in its first full ratings survey.
Every station draws from multiple other stations. The average PPM listener hears at least 5 stations in a week. This is gonna draw listeners away from multiple stations in the market. Might even cannibalize New 102.7 to a minor extent.
