Well, there was just a liner pointing listeners to the Audacy app and 94.7-HD2, so the format will stay on the airwaves... sort of.
I'm not sure how much of a NY vibe it will actually have. It will probably just duplicate what Audacy is doing in Chicago.Yes, if it's well programmed it should be good with the right NY feel and with music from LL Cool J, Melle Mel, Mantronix etc. The real NY classic hiphop with a funky vibe. Not the bad and angry hiphop from the 90's.
There was no one left at KITS to say any goodbyes. Every jock who was broadcasting at KITS was from another market. There was no point.Completely unrelated, but I'm kind of sad that Audacy didn't let KITS-FM in San Fran do any kind of send-off after 35 years in the same format, but WNSH, with only what... 8 years in the format (and only two years under Audacy ownership) gets a send-off like this? It's a shame.
WNYL is the center of Audacy's Alternative format, all of the decision-makers for their Alts are in NYC not to mention the nationally syndicated night shows (Kevan and Bryce). They are not going to flip it because it'll send their entire Alternative footprint into chaos. If they do go ahead and flip WNYL at some point, every Audacy Alternative's days are numbered.Interesting. I would have expected 92.3 to flip if anything.
WNYL is the center of Audacy's Alternative format,
They could relocate them elsewhere or still produce them from NYC, but this is me speculating a bit here: I'd also say this might be a signal that Audacy's national programming efforts are taking a U-turn.And four of the company's national country shows are based at WNSH. Including the mid-day show, Katie & Company, the Superstar Power Hour, and the weekly countdown show, hosted by the station's MD Jesse Addy.
Listening online, same thing. That'll blow out the country listeners heheUmm... Is New Kids on the Block on right now?
Yup, they're playing "You Got It (The Right Stuff)"Umm... Is New Kids on the Block on right now?
Jenny From the Block now. You're probably right.94.7 The Block. It's already on the Audacy site. A throwbacks format apparently. Or a stunt.
