Anymore flips today or tomorrow????

I honestly think Wild will flip next week once Elvis Duran and the rest of the DJ's move over to Power... to what I'm not sure? It just doesn't make sense to keep it.

I hope this comes to fruition it is really a joke to have 3 signals basically playing the same thing.

Let's recap:

1) What will happen to Wild? And when? Will it stay put? Will it go oldies classic hits? Will it go WGST-FM?

2) What is going to happen to 99X? Website's still up and staff still on the payroll and tweeting for now. My guess is that unless 99X goes to 97.9, 99X will go IN PART to 100.5--a "Rock100.5 Now With 99X" with a little more alt in the playlist, a "99X" alt show after PM drive, or something like that. I wonder what 100.5's numbers are after PM drive.

3) Is 100.5 going to tweak, reimage, or flip? See above. If they flip, would it be to alt/AAA? I doubt a flip if for no other reason than the flip that would have made the most sense (but IMO not as much sense as staying put with changes less radical) would have been a flip to active rock, not alt/AAA, since Project was pulling more listeners than Dave + 99X.

4) What will happen to Journey? 99X? 70s/80s classic hits? I don't see the point in 99X, only because it would have been easier and made more sense to flip Journey, and not 99X, to Bone if 99X were going to stay on one of the translators. 70s/80s classic hits would have made the most sense when AGH flipped to AN. But, better late than never (right, Brent?).

I can't really be sure to answer the first part of this question. CC is telling sales people that Power will be CCAtlanta's "Only CHR". That hints to me that WiLD leaves town when Elvis Duran leaves. (CC also hasn't changed the core demos for WiLD, something they would do if Hip Hop was permanent.) The second part is easy: WGST does ABSOLUTELY nothing for CCAtlanta, and will not be moved to FM. With AllNews1067 about to beat them two months in and WSB still up there at #5, WGST is only used for clearance of Premiere talk shows. What might we see on 105.7? Variety Hits, Hot Talk, Peach, or classic hits.

2) What is going to happen to 99X? Website's still up and staff still on the payroll and tweeting for now. Website is still up, without 98.9, and staff has been retained. I can't see Bone and Rock co-existing. it would either have to be
1) Bone to 100.5, Journey to 989, 99x to 97.9
or
2) 99x to 100.5, Bone stays, Journey stays

I really can't see a split formatted station, though I could see Cumulus, in Lance Venta's words, "Having a master plan to absorb all of the Project/Dave listeners."

Well, only by about two-tenths of a share. And, Dave was not a fantastic station. Cumulus is taking great interest in the Atlanta market, and probably would invest in a good alt/aaa station that would get a 3-4 share.

I think Cumulus is waiting to see if CC does anything with 105.7 If they don't..... I think they will attempt to re-launch AGH on some signal, that would run jockless (or with TOC.)

When Dave-FM flips, the market will have a hole for an FM with a male name. I hear that Cumulus plans to fill that hole with 97.9 BRENT FM.

I am just saying that I know thousands of people in Atlanta and they hate the radio dial as it is now. I have Cd's and tapes that go back more than 40 years. If some of this was put on the air, it would be a huge rating.

But not a winner in sales and revenue. Granted, older people have more money, but have less demand to buy products. 25-54 does have more of a demand with more people in one household.

I just do not buy that, no pun intended. I just bout a $4000 TV. I have many friends over 60 who are buying cars, cell phones, ipads, the list goes on and on.

Look at revenue from Kiss FM. Fourth in the country. No classic hits station makes the Top 10 revenue list. It's just not profitable for a radio company to launch oldies, especially in markets like Atlanta.

Its really too bad, because right now we have 6 stations playing the same shit. Over and over and over.
