Yeah but still calling it 99X (@ 100.5) is RIDICULOUS! Doing it on a translator (@ 97.9) is bad enough but on an actual frequency is just asinine!MRFLASHPORT said:

So im assuming revenue matters more than ratings, right? Here is where im going with this; The ratings were lower for dave than project before the plug was pulled. Why? Daves 2.0 rating was equivlant to Projects 3.0 rating because of the income level of people that listened to one versus the other. Therefore, weaker ratings for alternative compared to active rock can be tolerated based on income level differences between the two. This could explain alternative on 100.5 and active rock on a weaker translator signal. Now, if alternative goes on 100.5, they MUST become more adventurous by playing more indie, adult alternative, and more cutting edge music. They would need to leave the the 90's alone and hit the early 2ks harder with rock limited from the 90's and 80's. 99x only played one or two alternative songs from modern rock artist and forgot hits from those bands of just 5 to 8 years ago. Take alternative and combine with AAA which would block any future AAA from coming into the market. It would combine the DAVE and 99x ratings (99x ratings back in 2007 when it was on 99.7). Im hoping this is what I see but I also expect active rock coming back in the near future. The other idea is a station that plays both alternative and active rock like the point in st. Louis. St. Louis has one modern rock station that cover active and alternative very well. This also blocks the need for a specific format that focuses on a niche like modern hard rock or alternative. Such focuses reduce variety and increases over played songs.
That wouldn't accomplish anything - 99X could have stayed on 98.9 and The Bone could have gone to 97.9 if they planned on that.atlantaboy said:
