Bob Shannon CBS-FM

Anyone know what's up with Bob Shannon? He's been away from his show for a few weeks now with Joe Causi and Ron Parker doing most of the fill-ins. I hope he is OK. Just seems like a longer than usual time to be out

A radio enthuisast friend of mine said she heard he has the flu. Though, he seems to be out for a long time for the flu. I sure hope he's OK.

Bruce, you can't believe everything you hear....i DO hope Bob's okay..... :D

for my money, he IS "THE" Best air personality on cbs-fm now.

He is a Legend, Great guy :) DT is another Legend, even if he is young!!! Broadway Bill Lee, he is another wondferful Legend!!! tune him 3pm to 7pm!!! ;)

Each week Ron and Joe have been saying that Bob is coming back the following week and still no Bob. I hope he is ok and I am looking forward to his return.

Obviously it's more than the flu. The NYRMB, per Allan Sniffles, said last week Bob may or may not return to the air.

I assume Mr. Sniffles knows the real story, which means this isn't good.

Am I correct that Bob Shannon is in his early 60s?

I turned on WCBS-FM at 10 AM and was disappointed to hear no Bob Shannon. His jingle was played, but Joe Causi was doing his shift. I think he has been out since January. Let's hope for the best, since Bob has done so much for New York radio. Perhaps Alan Sniffen was advised of the situation and was asked to keep it in confidence.

I really do hope Bob makes a return to radio - if nothing else, just for the 40th anniversary weekend. But if not, his health is what's most important and the show must go on. I'm glad they're at least keeping the slot open for him.
