Ch Ch Changes at MOViN

I wasnt able to listen this morning. But i did hear them doing a "show" on sunday morning and i thought it wasnt very good at all.
-No content
-Unorganized
-Brooke was yawning
-Their topic was boring
And once again, The "morning show" only consisted of segments 2-4 minutes long before they roll into the next song.
Which you'd think MOViN would learn to let them have longer, considering their tremendous sucess last time.

However,
-Im not in there target demegraphic
-This was a "trial" run

Its Going to be very interesting to see how this turns out.
Cause it appears to be a "Hate it or Love it" so far.

As far as Mason in the afternoon. I think it'll work out pretty well, she's been doing excellent at weekends. To the point that i think she should have been afternoons all along, instead of monti.

oh well,
Anybody catch the "launch" of the show today?

I will second the above post: I, as well, missed them this morning. However, I did catch the same "show" on Sunday and was hardly impressed. I would dare call it a "shift." Shows have benchmarks, content, and...well, personality. I was bored out of my mind. It was the same old Movin schtick. Monti was, of course, on a nauseating "makes you feel good" kick while Brooke seemed bored, quite frankly. I've never heard of Brooke before. Not that it means she isn't established from anywhere, but she seemed rusty and I can't imagine that they are billing her as the best thing since sliced bread. I really had high hopes for this duo...it was obvious that, as stated, Pat never had a chance. It was almost like he was a "first marriage" of sorts; they didn't publicize it because clearly they didn't think it was going to work out. And they "divorced" him; now the second "show" is being hailed as the one that will stick. Hardly, I would say. I will try to catch their regular morning slot...that is, only if they are talking more than 3 times an hour for more than a minute.

As far as Susan goes, again...boredom. She seems to repeat herself a lot and doesn't have a lot of content, either. It seems as though she did a great job on weekends but maybe didn't know how to make herself a show for 5 shifts a week. However, I will play devil's advocate...we all seem to be b*tching about content. Maybe this isn't something the jocks are doing...I seem to remember the 1st morning show being sans much content as well. I think, MAYBE, it just might be impossible to have talent use their full abilities on a station like Movin.

I'm trying to remember how many morning iterations KISS went through before settling on Jackie & Bender. Dana Deardon ... Dana and Chris ... Chris and ?? ... ??? and ??? --- and even NOW they're at the point of "shut up and play some music" as a morning show mantra. Anyone remember any of that history??

In 1996, "Kiss 106" featured Dana Deardon in mornings, with two different "Kiss Boys". In 1997, when the station evolved to Modern AC-ish Top 40, Chris Collins was brought in from Sacramento and paired with Dana for "Chris and Dana in the Morning" with Brad McCutcheon as "Kiss Boy" and Ted Striker as producer. C&D let go in 2000, and for about a full year interim mornings was held down by Jerry and Candy, who had been on nights together. Jackie and Bender hired in 2001 from the Mod AC in Richmond, VA.

Oh how you are wrong, things have almost turned 180 in regards to the comments I made almost 2 YEARS AGO.

I have a feeling that you are just pissed that I have revealed your identity. As it is clear that you did a search history into my posts. Great job, Very childish.

One thing about radio is that it is CONSTANTLY evolving and changing. 2 years allows a lot of growth (and in mason’s case, decline) for a radio show. In fact, Seattle's MOViN as a station is no where near where they were 6 months ago. Kudos to them for adjusting, and playing the PPM game very well so far.

Yes--Mason has delicned. BIG Time. She sucks and the numbers show just how bad. Shes completely boring and has none of the spunk that Brooke and Monti have. She'll be gone soon--trust me.

bruinhilda-
oooh, snap! This makes me want to cry AND write in my diary. :(

i agree, mason is horrible. but so are brooke and monti. they're not nearly as good as the clearly talented (and soon to be highly rated) morning show at kube. karen and eddie are incredible talents who could be holding down mornings in a much larger market.

them and doormatt at kiss are the best jocks in the market.

Is there a point to these posts? Look at the ratings since the arrival of the PPM and you can see that MOVIN and kube make no difference in this market. In October 18-34 goes to KISS and KISW and STAR and WARm and WOLF. In 25-54 MOVIN and kube are not even in the game. Consider this thread done. PPM put a fork in both of these stations for good.
