To get back to WLW.....
If Scott Sloan gets the gig I won't be listening. I've tried to warm up to him for years and just can't. Don't know what it is but his style just puts me off. And he's just not very interesting or insightful. McConnell's common sense, non-theatrical approach in which he quickly cuts through the crap is a much needed commodity in the world of talk radio. Many times did he make me say out loud to myself "good point." Sloan has never had that effect on me. To quote someone else in this thread I believe, Sloan seems to babble incessantly. That's been my impression of him since day one.
I haven't had a chance to hear Jeff Katz filling in but I remember liking him quite a lot when he was on the Cincinnati airwaves years ago. I'm hoping they'll go out of the market and bring in some new blood.....or new old blood in the case of Jeff Katz. Nobody in the WLW bullpen strikes me as strong enough to fill those midday slots permanently.
