I just had to comment on this...
Mind you, I'm not anywhere near what (according to the info that has surfaced) Prager has gone/is going through, but just after the New Year I fell in my house and broke the hell out of my hip. I needed a full hip replacement, and was laid up in the hospital after the surgery for a few days, waiting for a transfer to a rehab facility where I'd start to learn to walk again. The pain was considerable, and it took me a couple days to get to the point where I "only" had to ask for Oxycodone "as needed" to supplement the Tylenol every 4 hours.
My mouth healed a lot faster. By the time I started my extended stay in inpatient rehab, I was cracking jokes and (at least attempting to) entertain the nurses and staff. If I'd had a show or a podcast I probably could have done an hour or two from my hospital room. That said, the absolute last thing on my mind was returning to work. I was fortunate in that I got put on medical leave by my employer and didn't need to worry about anything other than my recovery. Now, I have a few strong opinions about Prager (and his "university") but on a human level (and even if I was a fan), the last thing on my mind is whether or not he'll be back on the radio anytime soon. He should take as much time as he needs to heal.
