Why another K-love? Why don't they do air one rock or something? They already have 91.3 and 106.3.

The market distinctions are less important to EMF than to others.

The 60 dBu contour of 106.3 is entirely inside the 60 dBu of 97.7.

106.3 is actually part of their Austin rimshot cluster:
106.3 Gonzales and 92.1 Hutto have been simulcast for years through Country and Smooth Jazz to K-Love.
A couple of years back they added 91.9 Dripping Springs to the mix.

I can hear Air1 on 103.1 in San Marcos. However in Austin its a different station, actually a translator for 1300 AM.

No, the only translator on 103.1 in Texas is the one in Austin.

There must be another holdup. They could have easily LMAed the station to EMF. But they probably want to make sure they have the money in hand before they let the station go.

Usually about 45 days from filing to FCC approval (with no objections), then 40 days to "finality" (after posted in the F.R.before they are assured of no objections. I think the FCC approval provides a 90 day window after that, but they are not strict about it. Could easily be up to 6 months after filing at the choice of the participants.

EMF probably "forgot" to turn off the old existing translator.

The filing was amended on September 29 to fix a statement of attributable assets of the seller and its related owners. This was done the same day the FCC granted the transfer, and also granted an application to convert from commercial to non- commercial).

They could have closed on the same day (I was once actually at the purchased station within a few minutes of the FCC grant and the immediate payment transfer so that I could assume the GM position instantly. Decision to closing: 3 hours max).

So, there is likely something going on such as real estate transfers, etc., that have made the buyer and seller need a longer closing window.

I looks like they waited for the FCC to approve their(EMF) Main Studio Wavier before purchasing the station:

So, my guess is the FCC approved it(MSW) either today or yesterday and then EMF paid for the station today.

Maybe a glitch? KMLR 106.3 was still broadcasting K-Love.

It must be off the air completely. I am driving to SA from Austin right now- I'm just south of New Braunfels and I am still picking up KNCT Simply Beautiful 91.3
