Dr. Akbar said:To verify they're running legal, Oldiesfan would have to take a measurement at 5:30am when KFuNN is supposed to be running 100 watts. Then at 6:30am when they're using their PSRA. And then after 7am when the Big 15~Ten cranks out the Big 22kw.
Doc, you may recall I've done that a number of times, the latest being during
KayFuNN's "Oktoberfest Of Aural Inconsistencies."
During the nightttime 100-watt operation, there are no bars on the meter,
and the station's audio is between not there and very slightly there, which
depends on how many other signals are fighting it out on 1510.
When they were powering up about 36 minutes early, the signal strength
read the same as later on during daytime hours, so unless the KayFUNN
tech staff can post something to convince us otherwise (transmitter logs?),
I'll still maintain they were running 22 gallons from 5:54 AM to 6:04/6:09 PM
during quite a few days in October.
November seems to be a different story, as once again today the KayFuNNsters
were well within specs--powering up at 6:59:03 AM and down at 5:29:01 PM.
