The demo aging out doesn't help, either. Cool 105.7 had the same issue as Fox 97 in its last days.secondchoice said:I doubt if CC goes with a variety of classic hits on 105.7 They tried once with "Cool 105.7" CC even had Randy and Spiff and JJ Jackson on that station but it did not make it. I do not know if it was the signal (weak south end of the market) or CC just did not give it any support or enough time. But Classic hit or variety or WGST on 105.7 would be admitting they made a mistake. Not going to happen!
It seems like the more successful oldies/classic hits stations turn their playlist regularly and include a decent number of "oh wow" songs. Stuff that would wither under heavy rotation but works fine as an occasional guilty pleasure. Even River does that now, with their "rock blocks" that typically include 2 hits and one deep cut.
I am betting my cash on AC. Yep, i know "B already does that"!!! So what. They BARELY do it. The 1-2 80s songs an hour are the songs that save them. A 70s/80s/90s station would be awesome. "Lite 105.7 & 96.7", anybody?
If we can't do any of the great 60's, give me the 70's, we are 80'ed and 90"ed to death already.
