Radioresearcher said:People who think eclectic will work in a PPM world are in fantasy land. When listeners tune in, they want to hear a song they know or like. Just look at how well KRTH is doing in Los Angeles and KOLA will do in Riverside in PPM. What do they both have in common? Familiar HITS!
It's amazing how the AAA addicts are already prepping excuses for the likely failure of AAA in LA again.
KOLA is #1 12+ in riverside PPM share, and KRTH is third in LA, although in 25-54 they are further down the lists. The ultra familia list wins big time in PPM.
It's not at all suprising that stations like Jack, KRTH, KRCD and KHHT which are familiar oldies stations, are all in the top 10 12+ in PPM. On the other hand, Indie is at less than half its diary level... unfamiliar, bad signal... PPM death.
