New Rock station coming to DFW?

Is Foo Fighters being played on rural radio right now? I’m trying to confirm because I see two web apps. I’m trying to confirm which one is actually the actual station since I’m listening on iHeart leaving work
This has been mentioned in other posts, but to clarify and summarize
since iHeart hasn't yet changed the logo for 97.1-HD2 "The Edge":

"97.1 The Eagle" web site: 97.1 The Eagle - Dallas-Ft. Worth's Rock Station
KEGL-FM-97.1 main signal "The Eagle" = 97.1 The Eagle | iHeart
Direct streaming address (for media players): >http://ample.revma.ihrhls.com/zc2241<

KEGL-HD2-97.1 HD2 signal "The Edge" = https://www.iheart.com/live/971-the-eagle-9614/
Direct streaming address (for media players): >http://ample.revma.ihrhls.com/zc9614<

It’s best to describe KEGL as mainstream, not active, rock.

I would agree on this one. So far, their playlist is similar to 99.5 Kiss in San Antonio, playing hard rock 80s and 90s along with grunge, and early 2000s hard rock, but with the occasional newer Three Days Grace, Shinedown, and.... Jelly Roll (which Kiss SA doesn't play). Very little 2010s and today's rock is being played but then again, it may start adding the newer stuff after a while. At least I'm not hearing Twenty One Pilots or Imagine Dragons (yet and they better not). What I'm also not hearing is newer rock bands like Asking Alexandria, Bring Me the Horizon, The Pretty Reckless, or even Dirty Honey and Greta Van Fleet isn't played either, which I think separates KEGL from being active rock and would classify as mainstream rock instead.

This is what got The Eagle in trouble in the first place
Yeah but iheart does still have a relationship with the Mavs they can’t afford to screw up or lose. So having Ben and Skin isn’t ideal for either side. One of them works for the mavs. Plus im sure they bring their own money to the table with rollertown ads. But, it has to be done to satisfy the contract - however I think B&S need to be away from any drive time day parts. Keep them from 10-1

What kind of numbers does Turbo get? Sirius isn't in the OTA radio business for a reason.

If you haven't heard it or if you don't know the rock format, then why would you ask that question.

So, if you DO know the rock format, would you say that all of the following bands should be heard on a modern day ROCK radio station?

Godsmack, Five Finger Death Punch, Dirty Honey, Blackstone Cherry, Pantera(!), Drowning Pool, Tool, Marilyn Manson, White Zombie, Korn, Disturbed, Shinedown, Avenged Sevenfold, Slipknot, Killswitch Engage, Limp Bizkit, Trivium, Puddle of Mudd, Staind, Three Days Grace, Lacuna Coil, Kitty, Rise Against, Saliva, Iron Maiden, Theory of a Deadman, Silverchair, Cold, Trapt, Velvet Revolver, Coal Chamber, Rammstein, Static X, Machinehead, Stone Sour, Ozzy (post 1992), Brother Caine, Greta Van Fleet, Royal Blood, Chevelle, Volbeat, The Pretty Reckless, Saint Asonia, Zakk Wylde, Ayron Jones, Paramore, Bush, Bring Me The Horizon, Breaking Benjamin, Dorothy, Ghost, Papa Roach, 10 Years, Kenny Wayne Sheppard, Halestorm, Default, Sevendust, The Killers, Messer, Candlebox, Finger Eleven . . .

Also while we're on this, as it stands today, the Eagle is sharing half its playlist with KZPS. How does that make sense? Half the playlist on KZPS is being shared on Jack and the Spot. So how DOES THAT make sense?

No radio station could play what Octane (On Sirius) plays and survive. However, DAD's now are between 30 and 50, and the bands I mentioned above is what they want to hear.

Because I'm trying to understand how a channel on a subscription service would help a radio station make money. Would the fans of that music pay for it? Or would they be willing to sit through 14 minute commercial breaks advertising products they don't use.

If people can hear that music without commercials, why would they want it with commercials? Do you understand my question now?

I think you’re missing the point. Half of the music that The Eagle is playing is being played elsewhere. I believe all Kramer is trying to say is that The Eagle would have a better chance of being successful and making money if they would drop a lot of the older stuff that they’re playing. And I totally agree.

I just heard Def Leppard - Photograph. I think they play that on 92.5, 98.7, 100.3 and 102.1. A lot of music softens up as the song ages. And because of songs like this, it just makes The Eagle seem like it’s all over the place. The next song after Photograph was Limp Bizkit - Break Stuff. I think if they don’t want people tuning out every other song, they need to drop the older stuff.

My old roommate would often stumble across a movie on cable and watch it with commercials when the commercial free version was readily available on streaming services or DVD/Blu Ray. I’m sure she’s not alone in this and I’m sure it also happens with radio too.

There's a reason why they're played elsewhere: They're hits.

Every pub I go to sells basically the same food. A lot of them have the same beer on tap. Ever wonder why?

Would they make more money if they sold food that was only available at one place? Depends on the food.

Okay, let’s put it this way. You go into a pub and in addition to the popular beer, they also sell smoothies, sno cones, coffee and freshly squeezed fruit juices. That’s what The Eagle is right now with the music they’re playing.

Def Leppard is currently touring with Journey, The Steve Miller Band, Heart and Cheap Trick. Those bands all fit on 92.5, 98.7, 100.3 and 102.1. 97.1?? Not so much!
